Yes , I know what you mean ....but try the Campbell and Carter series ....it took me a couple of books to get into it , but it’s very much like M&M ....hence I think the collaboration

Ann Granger Ros ....the Mitchell and Markby series ....cosy crime ....very relaxing and the series ( their relationship ) develops over time ....I think you’d like them
