I've missed this forum whilst away
Absence wasn't through dislike
It was because I crashed my bike!
A trip to London that I took
Ended when I realised "fook!"
That idiot has just pulled out
I'm going to hit him-theres no doubt
Then sure enough that horrible sound
I heard before I hit the ground
I came to lying on the floor
Couldn't stand up any more
Mainly due to fractured knee
Plus a bike on top of me!
Broken wrist, sight of bone
I was in the panic zone
Ambulance trip-faster,faster
Soon my leg it was in plaster
Only thing made me irate
my leg was fixed completely straight!
When you live in a first floor flat
how can you climb stairs like that?!
So off to mumsy's I did go
I've not lived there since long ago!
Weeks had passed, body stronger
Couldn't stay there any longer
Plaster off, knee could bend
I was surely on the mend
So now I'm home and back at work
Although light duties-I can't shirk
I'm taking care and before too long
My bike will also be back "on song"
A pair of forks and broken plastic
nothing really very drastic
I really would go very batty
If I had to lose poor "natty"
I dont think I could be much fonder
Of my friend-my ageing Honda
And so I'm back and plan to stay
Theres just one thing I'd like to say
To anyone who drives a car
For local/distance/near/far
Every time you take a drive
You want to end your trip alive
But you are not the only one
Us bikers aren't just out for fun
Please just take that second glance
before you move-give us a chance
Cos if we hit you-you may curse
But rest assured-WE COME OFF WORSE!
