however the heavy use of feedback as a musical instrument - despite being the defining characteristic of the Mary Chain's style - can be a bit off-putting to some.
I actually like feedback in fact there was a period in time when I was into a band called Spaceman 3 and also a chap called Sonic Boom and other associated acts. I Recall a gig at the Leadmill where one song seemed to be 20 mins long, we had bright lights trained on us, everyone sat on the floor and we were presented with a song consisting of rhythmic repetative chords with lashing of feedback and sustain until we were enveloped in the sound.
Truly marvellous.
