To be devil's advocate, although inferior to Blondie - obviously, it's a passable cover and a nice bit where they work in Undertones - Teenage Kicks lyrics. They could have sat on stools and given the dull/X Factor acoustic boyband listen-to-my-vocal-range treatment. I think you're being a bit uncharitable.
There's been some atrocious covers over the years. I quite like it - sort of.
