I love him... him and Nick.
Just watch him perform (all the time) and then you'll know.

Plus there was a Will And Grace story involving him that I wasn't impressed with.
I've never watched Will and Grace, I've watched John in Torchwood, Dr Who and the Arrow...and seen him on a few other things. I think he's harmless, I don't mind the performing, after all, thats what he is.
