Evening. 
Sunny and warm during most of the day. My van was reporting 33 degrees at one point.
Then cloudier and windy towards late afternoon.
Thunder and lightning and heavy rain for a period this evening.
Got some work done, hedgecutting and tidying up mostly.
Also called in on a couple of other places where the grass hadn't grown at all in the last fortnight, so I had to just go away again. The very dry weather is definitely affecting my business now. 
Hicky. Good that you got more work on the greenhouse done. 
Not surprised the gardener is impressed with your garden. Are these the electric hedecutter that has gone wrong again, or are they just manual shears that he has broken?
Didn't realise that gas is only a quarter of the price of electricity, for the equivalent unit. I think heating oil is more expensive than gas, but still cheaper than electricity.
I'm not particularly keen on working up long ladders now Not that I ever was, but i think I'm getting too old for that lark now. 
I'm sure you can laugh at being stuck on a roof now, but it probably wasn't funny at the time?
Hope the thermostat you've ordered does the job you want.

That was enterprising of your OH, doing an improvised fix on the weathervane for the weather station.
Probably best to walk the dog early while it's still relatively cool.
Watched 'Inventing the Impossible' on BBC2 then 'Keeping Faith' on BBC1.
