I had to use one a few years ago.. We were on holiday in Skegness and i went over on my ankle... It was huge the next morning so i hired one for the last day to go around the fair.... I have to say it was fun lol I'd post a pick of me on it but my hair was red at the time and really didn't suit me!
We ended up having t rent my Mum one of these when we were in Salou last year so she could get around the theme park. She was a menace! She was running into people, she has no co-ordination and she was rudely beeping at everyone to move out of her way. The power went to her head.
We saw one in the shopping centre yesterday when we were out. She said ooohh remember that? And I said yes, and if you end up needing one of those in a few years just to do your shopping then I'm not coming with you.

I lived in and around Skegness and those scooters are a nightmare!my daughters work colleague was knocked over and had her foot/ankle run over she was on crutches for weeks 
Mr C's father had one in the last year of his life. He never drove throughout his life and was like a boy racer on it. I swear to god he used to take corners so fast he was practically on 2 wheels.

A gem? No, he was a cantankerous old git, but that was his charm I suppose. His last words before he fell in to the sleep he never woke from were 'I just want to make a nuisance of myself'
