Querry getting to the Quarter Final by beating Gasquet and then Berdych in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Lleyton Hewitt won Wimbledon in 2002 and has the capability of doing much better than his ranking suggests.

Heather Watson - Out!

Heather Watson was outgunned by American teenager Madison Keys to become the seventh Briton to lose in the first round at Wimbledon.

The 21-year-old from Guernsey went down 6-3 7-5 in the opening match on Court Two, leaving Andy Murray as the only British player so far to reach round two.

I love Lleyton H - used to detest him when he was a youngster as he was a proper sulky brat - he has matured - a real fighter - goes for everything - I like that in a tennis player.

The benefit of beating a top seed in the first round – you get an easier (on paper at least) opponent in the next round!

Maria Duque-Marino is ranked 117 in the world so Laura Robson will be favourite to win. But she beat Julia Goerges who is ranked 36 and Laura Robson is ranked 38.

Seeds tumbling like ninepins today!

All the seeds are schduled to play unseeded players in bothe the first and second rounds. So if you've beaten a seed in your first round match then your second round match will be against another unseeded player, so theoretically it shoud be an easier match.

On paper all third round matches should be between seeded players. So if you are an unseeded player in the third round there is a possibility that even if you are playing a seed, it could be a lower seed than the one that you beat in the first round - but there are several possibilities here, including that the third round is the first time you meet a seed or even that you get through to the fourth round without having played a seed at all!

What a shame - Steve Darcy (sp) the guy who beat Nadal has gad to withdraw because of a shoulder injury .....I bet he's gutted. At age 29 - will he ever get a chance like that again? Shame.
