Once again we’ve forgone fresh air, denied ourselves daylight and let our social lives become a distant memory to trawl the world wide webisphere and bring you your weekly dose of X Factor online gossip…

Down in the valleys:

Following the outstanding performances from Danyl and Jamie in London it seemed the capital’s dominance of this year’s auditions was set to be unrivalled. That is until The X Factor hit Cardiff and the judges were overwhelmed by a flood of warbling Welsh talent.

However, the limelight wasn’t left entirely to the vocally blessed with Fouad the French waiter’s unrecognisable rendition of Hero becoming the latest internet sensation.

Of course, never off the radar are our illustrious judges and it seems it’s one Geordie lass in particular that’s the flavour of the week…

What the papers say:

For those that argue the nation’s biggest talent search isn’t highbrow enough the timesonline.co.uk  has reported that The X Factor has become “the show that every politician must watch rather than the Six O’Clock News or Question Time.”

Yes, it seems even our very own PM, who famously wrote to last year’s finalists, is once again hooked on the show as “a dose of normality”, which begs the question… has Mr. Brown been watching the same show as us?

Meanwhile thesun.co.uk, whilst loving Lucie Jones’ stellar performance, has been focusing on the “the war of the Welsh lads”, Lloyd Daniels and Daniel Williams. They’ll be joining Danyl Johnson at bootcamp… which seems to be rapidly becoming a battle of the Daniels!

In a warning to any budding cupids out there themirror.co.uk went with a follow up story to Cowell’s and Cole’s Combined Effort to reunite the once engaged Jack and Kirsty. They reported that just hours after the heartfelt reunion on stage the couple had once again split up and Jack had admitted “I didn’t want to ask Kirsty out. I just wanted to get off stage as fast as possible.” Ouch. When matchmaking goes wrong!

Elsewhere on the web:

Another week, another internet sensation launches onto our laptop and this week it’s the turn of the Mariah Carey obsessed Fouad Djaoublia. His audition not only left the judges squirming and the audience screaming but also attracted around 61,000 hits on Youtube in less than 24 hours.

In reflection of our own poll on the once ‘Mr. Nasty’, didgitalspy.co.uk has reported that Simon is “taking a kinder approach to contestants on The X Factor following criticism of Britain's Got Talent.” Let’s hope this doesn’t signal the end of Cowell’s classic cutting comments.

Of course, if you type the name Cheryl Cole into Google your computer will crash from the sheer volume of news stories, but one in particular has set the comment boards alight this week and that’s the release of her first solo single Fight For This Love, due to be released Ocotber 19th.

Danyl Johnson, Jamie Afro and Stacey Solomon are still holding on to the top three spots, but following a constant flow of supportive messages for Lucie Jones and Lloyd Daniels, we predict they’ll soon be battling to hold on to the pole positions.

With our Facebook fans now numbering over 179,000 and with over 7000 followers on Twitter the comments and tweets have been flying. It seems the new format is no longer a hot topic and fans are beginning to focus more on the acts themselves. This week it was Lucie and her brave song choice that spread a wave of excitement.

That girl from outside cardiff was fab, she shocked Simon's smug face... lolz

Well done lucie... good attitude, excellent voice and keep it up!

Until next week:

Three shows down and we’ve gone from the heady heights of the “best audition ever” to some laughable lows. Either way the auditions have had us social networking our little hearts out and it’s with tweets at the ready we wait for what next week has in store... until then keep it logged and loaded.
