Hi Mollie - yes, I believe he does... but declines the offer to sail off into the sunset. I'm sure Norris won't go - he can't - his brother is coming into the show.

Didn't Julie sleep with Jason then? As much as I saw most of yesterdays for once I think that was the one sentence I missed! Roll Eyes

Sorry - didn't notice this last night. She SAID that nothing happened, they were both drunk and fell asleep. I think she's lying.

Norris's brother... oooohhh, that shoud be a great storyline. Hope he is a good actor, like Norris.

He's gonna be played by Andrew Sachs, Mollie!

Ken Barlow does my head in, he's such a pompous twit, and the way he looks at Deidre as if he's stepped in something nasty.

I hope does leave Deirdre for Martha and it all goes pearshape, then he'll be up the creek with a paddle as I'm sure Deidre won't have him back after Ken left her a letter explaining why he was leaving her.

Really ?

I bet he will be good in it.

Wonder if it will be just a short visit like Peter Kay did, or a longer part ?

Glad to see this thread taking off - it's the only soap I watch now Big Grin

I didn't know about Andrew Sachs playing Norris's brother - should be interesting!

Really good episodes this week - I was crying again when Norris and Emily phoned Rita - you could really feel her pain Frowner

I didn't like Eileens attitude either but she has calmed down and aplogised now Thumbs Up

Have been a bit bored of the Ken/Martha thing but it does look like he is going to go with her - for the time being at least! Wink

It's the only soap I watch too, liverbird - I love Corrie!

Mollie, not sure how long he's going to be in for - probably not that long, but there are pics of them together in some of the TV mags, I think he's due to arrive quite soon. I can't think of him as anything other than 'Manuel' (or Georgina wotsername's grandad!) but can imagine he'll be quite good opposite Norris.

I think Deidre gets to read the letter tonight...

Does anyone else think Ken backed away from going through with going away with Martha because when she was talking about the friends she wanted him to meet, he realised that he might be out of his depth with them? As it did sound as though they were all more well travelled, wordly, and possibly better educated than him.
(And he is a wee bit of a snob isn`t he!!!)

Or do you think he really couldn`t leave his family when push came to shove?

Even the rumours about another affair coming up sounds boring to me,

Do you mean Molly and Kevin?
It just doesn`t sound feasable does it, especially as Molly is a newly-wed...

I love Blanche though,it wouldn`t be the same without her. Big Grin

Well Corrie fans , what do you think of Andrew Sachs so far ? I think the part could prove to be interesting.

I saw him on "This Morning" saying he is a long time fan of Corrie, and asked for a part years ago, and the part they offered him, he said he didnt think would be an interesting character, so turned it down.

He said him and his wife thought up this character, liked it, and asked programme makers if he could play it. He said he is happy that they agreed to do so,

I enjoyed seeing Deirde annoying Ken last night, singing and dancing around to the radio. Big Grin Scott Mills played part of it on his show this morning on Radio 1. Laugh

Ben Price to play Corrie's Nick Tilsley

Ben Price to play Corrie's Nick Tilsley

Rex Features

Former Footballers' Wives star Ben Price is to take over the role of Coronation Street's Nick Tilsley, it has been announced.

The actor, who played love rat Conrad Gates in the ITV1 drama, will be seen in his new part for the first time this Christmas.

Adam Rickitt previously appeared as Nick on and off from 1997 to 2004. Weatherfield producers announced their decision to recast the character in July this year.

Nick has been tipped to immediately cause fireworks on the Street as he has a dangerous liaison with his half-brother David's (Jack P. Shepherd) ex-girlfriend Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) following his arrival. Neither party is aware of the other's identity until they meet again on Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, the returnee must also face his history with ex-wife Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), as well as his seeing his other old partner Maria Connor (Samia Smith) again when she returns from Ireland in the New Year.

Speaking of his new role, Price commented: "I am absolutely delighted to get this part. I have been seen a couple of times for Coronation Street characters in the past few years, but I am pleased now that I didn't get those roles. I am really looking forward to stamping my own mark on the character of Nick."

As well as Footballers' Wives, Price is known for playing the role of Nathan Spencer in BBC medical drama Casualty.

The actor will begin filming for the soap on Monday and be seen on screen for the first time on December 21.
