suricat muf. Para 2 of my last post ended with ‘puter’, then I closed the bracket. Non of that other crap in para 2 was posted by me. I forgot how bad this site is for pasting from Word Pro! Best regards, suricat. [ more ]
suricat muf. "Haven't watched the last one yet(tbh ET is not my thing) but have SKY+ed it" No need for that, you can see it today (06/04/2010) on BBC 2 at 19:00 hrs. UK summer time. Yes, too many programmes are repeated nowadays (even though we are also given a 30 day BBC i-Player alternative on the ‘puter&rsquo . However, do you remember my criticism of ice core samples? It turns out that the last prog of the series justifies this. They’ve shown how plankton type organisms can live in ice for... [ more ]

Shocking scene in Eastenders last night!
darloboy (Play The Game!) I love EE and Stacey is hot! . [ more ]
El Loro Talk about unhappiness, the recent episodes have gone out their way to punish Jane as much as possible. How dare she have the temerity to be happy for a brief moment. Needless to say, her punishment isn't over yet. She doesn't yet know the true cause of Lucy losing the baby. Obviously the writers are saving this up so that when she is at her lowest, she can be told the brutal truth to make her misery even deeper. [ more ]
El Loro Needless to say by Friday's episode, normal doom, gloom and despondency had returned. The fundamental rule of life in Eastenders is that happiness is purely transient and must be followed by unhappiness which is the norm. It's just as well that Eastenders is not representative of the majority else as a society we would be finished. [ more ]

El Loro One of the all time great comedies Some Like It Hot is scheduled to be shown at the Peel Centres chain of cinemas on Monday 26 April. This is likely to be a one off showing in the afternoon but this could well be the only chance you ever get of seeing this film on the big screen. [ more ]

Former Member Yeah, I've not been watching for all that long, but like you say, they might be able to repair that section hopefully [ more ]
Dave Would have been a terrific race had it not been for the track issues. I hope they simply repair that section rather than repave the entire track. It was the first time I've seen the drivers actually have to drive the cars there in years. I've been to pretty close to 80 races at Daytona and that one was definitely one that I wish that I had been to in person. I don't think I've said that in perhaps the last 5 years. We'll see, but I've got my fingers crossed! [ more ]
Former Member Thanks for the info Dave allthough I've got Virgin so not sure if I'll get it. I did see the Daytona race though [ more ]

Shocking Bradley spoiler EE
El Loro World exclusive! I can now reveal that Bradley and Max had previously arranged with Stacey, that Bradley and Max would earlier have had face transplants between themselve,.and that the real Max in penance for his sins would throw himself off and seemingly take the blame for Archie's murder, thus giving the real Bradley the opportunity to live ever happily after with Stacey. What the real Bradley doesn't know is that Stacey and Janine also had face transplants. This was devised by the real... [ more ]
Åŗтγмαģš It seems now pretty certain that Bradley is going to die. Apparently it will look as if it is suicide (but the audience will know it's not) and Bradley will be blamed for the murder of Archie and the case closed. But Bradley won't actually be Archie's killer. [ more ]

MIT..Climategate discussion
suricat muf. I’m up late again. I heard about Lord Monckton’s encounter with local police in Denmark on the news, so I wasn’t surprised to see him included with these ‘Climate Videos’ from there; http://www.danskfolkeparti.eu/Climate-Videos.asp or the encounter reported in "Counting Cats in Zanzibar"; http://www.countingcats.com/?p=5322 however, I was surprised to see his actions elsewhere: http://scienceandpublicpolicy..../pachauri_letter.pdf Do you think these things could be related? Best... [ more ]
suricat muf. That’s quite possible. The initial human response to an external stimulus (like a question that hasn’t been previously encountered) tends to be one of a defensive nature that delays the full response [ref: personal insight]. This reflects on the past experience (fields of knowledge and levels of understanding) of the individual. Let’s face it, Climate Science is truly ‘diverse’ and has great depth. Many questions and answers must have terrifying repercussions to the uninitiated! I... [ more ]
Ensign Muf Reference: suricat Well I’ve resisted watching this elsewhere muf, but I saw this first here. I watched this last night suricat and honestly got more out of it than I expected! Could the whole difference between all the sides of the argument be 'some that panic and some that don't'?? I know that I personally tend not to panic and I guess that You like me look a problem and set about [trying to] solve it. [ more ]

The Best Of Bond
The Big D I think Pierce Brosnan could have been the best ever, but he messed it up, Daniel Craig has everything a modern Bond should be, but the the best in my opinion has always been Connery [ more ]
Sopwith Camel I agree, Well-Wisher. Moore was the best Bond but I like Octopussy best among the movies. [ more ]
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities Although Roger Moore is probably more my era, My favorite Bond is Sean Connery, with Daniel Craig next and in third place Pierce Brosnan. I don't have a particular favorite Bond film, but the ones I watch the most are: Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun and currently Casino Royale. [ more ]

Heatseek Pedrosa ends season with victory Pedrosa was rarely threatened once he took the lead Spaniard Dani Pedrosa delighted the home fans as he won the final MotoGP race of the season in Valencia. New world champion Valentino Rossi came second, with his Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo in third place. Casey Stoner, who had qualified on pole, missed the race after a cold tyre caused him to crash in the warm-up lap and smash his windscreen. That ensured Lorenzo finished second in the championship... Home and Away
El Loro I have a theory about who killed Grant, which I've masked below. Time will tell if I'm right. I reckon Grant was killed by Ross. When Charlie and Ruby visited Ross he was apparently asleep - they talked to Morag about Charlie kidnapping Grant and not being able to get Grant arrested. But Ross could have been awake, heard everything which was said, and decided to get rid of Grant himself as the only solution which would save Charlie. [ more ]

El Loro Bye bye Belle. She looked remarkably healthy for someone with the latter stages of cancer. I worked out once that based on the number of deaths in Home & Away, the average life expectancy of people living there was around 20, so why do people live there? [ more ]

Mike Ashley
Heatseek Mike Ashley has taken the club off the market. Ashley has appointed Chris Hughton as full-time manager and has pledged to invest £20m in the club. A search has been launched for companies to sponsor the iconic St James's Park stadium which could lead to its name being changed as early as next season. It sounds like good news to me Pam considering you'll be back in the Premier League next season having got rid of a lot of deadwood off the pitch - lol at Michael Owen on Sunday. [ more ]

Kev I just watched the 13th ep. OMG its great, I've missed this show so much. Starts off confusing (we expect that though don't we?) but... It all makes sense in the end. It felt almost like a film that has all the dull un-important bits cut out. It's got suspense all the way through. [ more ]

Are You Blu ?
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities Not true, Some studios including Warner Brothers make region free BD's, not all I grant you, but there are a lot out there. The speed of boot-up has got progressively better with each release and firmware update. It's not so bad now. I am not sure what you refer to as hidden surprises. If it's just DRM, then I don't see where your problem is, not unless you want to pirate the discs - well do you? BD will not fail. It is growing at a faster rate than DVD. You can also see that DVD prices have... [ more ]
BBBS whilst i accept that br has progressed quite a lot its only now with the latest discs and players even getting close to what hd-dvd was from the start but still with one huge minus point, hd-dvd was region free br isnt on the plus side it means that films that were out on hd-dvd can easily be picked up worldwide, dont get me wrong we do have br players (the panasonic ones with divx) but we can still be watching an hd-dvd disc whilst its br equivalent is still booting up, the fact that br... [ more ]
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities Hi, I was quite surprised by your post. HD-DVD has been discontinued for a very long time now. I have to disagree with you but the quality of Blu-ray films is excellent. The encodes are so much better now that studios have got into their stride. You should see the remastered Bond films (superb for their age). Films like Wall*E are breathtaking. I would argue strongly that Blu-ray films now surpass HD-DVD in everyway. I have compared both the DVD and Blu-ray versions of Quantum of Solace... [ more ]

suricat mufcdiver. I intended to say that there is no way that I would pay £19.99 for a right to view this proposed data and scenario because six months ago it was absolutely free! However, it's a lot worse than that now! It seems that I can own An Inconvenient Truth for £19.99 without an order of more than £5.00 with Amazon, but if I pay more than £5.00 for an order with Amazon the cost for "An Inconvenient Truth" is only £3.98! Crap! Because if I pay £19.99 for "An Inconvenient Truth" then I... [ more ]
