I remember my DiL telling me that one of the big shopping centres near us was tracking "shopping patterns" via smart phones. I think it's been going on for quite a while.

I have a tendency to 'go dark' when I am out and about. I am acutely aware of smartphone visibility.

But I will say this: if you really want to screw up their stats, walk in and out of lots of unrelated shops.

I often walk through M&S in town because it is a very convenient warm and covered link to the tram stop.

Yes! Our M&S is also a good short cut too!

few yrs ago i was walking through M&S with this girl..she picked up a lampshade, put it on her head & walked out of the shop without paying for it
