think in villages to be accepted you  have to have  family to have lived there for a few generations

I was joking with the doctor today that we’ve only lived in this village for 27 years, so we’re still not considered as locals

I’ve lived here over 30 and am still an incomer

Hubby has a Welsh SiL and her accent was very Welsh (she came from a Welsh speaking area). She has lived in England for 35 years now.
