HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I don't reckon my wooly/felt rose should go on a cake...    but my mate Haze (friend & co-worker).. .   hers might!

I actually got the better gift.   Haze's rose was peach satin & IT SMELLED OF OLD OLD LAVENDER, MUSTY SOCKS & A TOUCH OF MILDEW!!    Her rose is really really rank..    and its fraying!

Re: Bonus.     We didn't get one when we normally do, the last working day before christmas, and the boss had been giving us a load of "I am skint" sob stories all day.    However, a few days after christmas we both got christmas cards with cheques inside in the post.

posted from the london residence, on xmas eve.

Well chuffed.    hundred quid more than last years bonus..  and a big thank you for all my hard work!

So we are motivated little New Year workers now

and can laugh at the dodgy wooly/satin rose brooch gifts.

We are fairly sure they belonged to the bosses wife (she loves a pashmina, and its the sort of thing she would use to pin the pashmina to her shoulder)

I am going to throw mine out..  (its still looking at me, in its gift bag, on the mantlepiece, its the only bit of christmas left on display )   I am just scared that the moment I do is the moment that we are told we are to all come to work wearing our shit roses.

Haze says she will regift hers!

TO WHO???     I told her she should probably not even be speaking to anyone she hates enough to regift that to

When's your birthday again?

one of the best things about a friend you've been close to for 23 years is that we know each other inside out, and never have to self censor..

she knows the reaction she'd get

and exactly what she'd be getting for her bday 7 months later!

I have just broken the "bouncing bottle gift box" tradition.    For the past 7 years we have bought each other a bottle of something & given it in the same (very nice) bottle gift box...   with the name scribble out, or arrowed to indicate invert the To & From, or tippexed,..

I bought her a lovely Crabtree & Evelyn handcream set this year!

and it wouldn't fit in the bottle box
