It's OK - he's a horseracing fanatic, and I think he's secretly quite pleased that I am a fan of the McCririck - I tell him that the picture is on the ceiling so that I will remember to go out to buy his Racing Post on Saturday mornings.

The spoilers don;t bother me cos i never come via the home page...i have the forum saved to the main BB forum page...so if i see and spoiler and don;t wnat to know i just don't look.
Having said that I must say I found the thread titled 'Which FM would you like to stab' last night more disturbing than the spoiler thread. Where's the outrage about that then? Just cos its now gone but I saw no-one protesting it last night when it was there.
I saw it, but thought hey 'live and let live' and all that ho hum diddly doo dah etc...

I never come into this forum through the home page bit so I was unaware that threads and OPs were displayed there and I bet Darlo was too. You would only know that if you use that way to access the forum.
Coming back into this late:
I agree that a lot of people (and that includes Darlo) wouldn't know about the "home page" problem, and that was really my point in posting. As Stonks implies, it could be a problem during BB if we're not careful.
Reading my post early-on in this thread again, I want to make it clear that it wasn't meant as criticism of Darlo but rather a general "heads-up" warning. I posted quickly, and could probably have made that a bit clearer.
Thinking about it a bit further: the "Recent Topics" display on the home page isn't a problem as long as we know about it. It only shows OPs, so the simplest solution is not to post spoilers in OPs: perhaps something like "Be warned: this thread is for spoilers of The XXX Show.". and then put the spoilers in a following post.
The "Recent Comments" ticker is a bigger problem, though. Everything comes up in that. Again, the only solution is probably to be aware - and a warning OP post also on the home page would definitely help! At least we don't have to worry about having the ticker on the main forum pages anymore... 
I have to say that I think the home page is nicely done: it comes from this site's more "social networking" style and history, and provides a lot of info about what's going on. It's just that most of us are used to more traditional forum styles...
Wow! Just for clarity I wasn't having a go at you Eugene (as if ) or Olly or Growly etc etc. I understand how frustrating it is when someone tells you the ending beforehand - someone did it to me with The Sixth Sense and I still want to inflict retribution on her!
I just felt that a couple of the comments were uncalled for and merely wanted to state that Darlo (like me) could have been unaware about the home page problem.
Darlo is such a sweetie that I get a bit irate when I think he's being picked on is all.

I did get a bit of a surprise coming back here and seeing how this thread had grown, though, and I felt I needed to put in a bit of clarification - your post just provided a convenient way to do that...
I didn't think you were having a go at me, Veggie . I love a good spoiler, but I realise lots of people don't. I think the one thing I don't like about my Kindle is that it's not so easy to read the last page of each book
