it would depend on how good a friend they are and what they've done.

I tend to do what Baz does, in my head I seek revenge but I do tend to forgive. However if it's a really really bad thing they've done, I tend to walk away and once I've walked, I stay walked

I'm like Bazzy and EC. Depends what they have done. Most of the time though, I'm annoyed in my head and tend to let it go.

We are holding our fashion night in the alter space....the stained glass windows are to die for....and would so add to the effect....have been promoting our night to that effect!
Have now been told we have to hold it in a marquee............
So so not the same!
Issue is...they knew this before....so why allow me to advertise another way??
Just makes me look a fool!

I was just thinking having read a few posts that the OP might have been better giving a bit more info as it would seem there is a reason behind the thread. 

Just tell them that for Health and safety reasons you need to move to the marquee. Blast the music , pour the wine and enjoy. A fool you are not ,hard working fund raiser with a heart of gold is what you are and that will shine through on the night .

How unfair, and after you put so much thought in Slimfern

Ask visitors if its gonna spoil their night.. . then carry on regardless.

I'd be tempted to tell the local paper/radio etc that you are concerned that it will cause less people to come and your charity won't make so much money.

They might pick up the story. Good PR for your charity with a nice bit of revenge thrown in for good measure

Theres only one thing worse than horrible peeps... and thats horrible peeps in positions of authority!!  Peeps that come along with their niggly little rules and ignore the bigger picture. [Unfortunately there are quite a lot of them around at the moment].

Sorry Slimfern - what can you do except persevere? Go swish! 

I'm very easy going and let little things go very easily but ...........if it's BIG (doesn't happen often) I'm very unforgiving. It's not something I'm particularly proud of - it's just how I am. I've not spoken to my FiL for 25 years ..........I know times move on ya - di- da but .....I'll never speak to him again and it doesn't worry me one bit. I have an ex friend who I sort of snub when I see her (I'm short/pleasant but that's it). I have a very good memory .......I remember everything - sometimes that's a good thing - sometimes maybe not.

These are the only two people out of a longish life so I don't think that's too bad.

You were looking forward to that.  I have taken revenge in the past on my ex husband for a bad abberation, but I normally just had a scream somewhere in the middle of Dartmoor.

SLIM if anyone can turn this to their advantage - you can !!

Get some cardboard and make a very bad copy of the stained glass windows!!

And tell everyone,

"We brought the window with us - and here it is!!!"

I was going to suggest something similar - I remember making stain glass windows at primary school with black card frames and tissue paper. I'd turn the thing on it's head ........make it a talking point.
