Lashing rain and wind for about 45mins then suddenly a lovely blue sky.
Now it's windy - rain stopped
Very wet and very windy. Sometimes only one of them, but more often both - with the odd glimmer of sunshine. Just now it has gone very dark and I think we're in for another Deluge.
There are a couple of places relatively near us that are in danger of flooding (river Clyde and river Tweed), but as we are at the top of a hill (600+ feet above sea level) we're in no danger.
It's been quite windy in Norfolk but not the worst wind this year. A short period of very heavy rain but not the worst of the year also.
Blowing a hoolie for 24 hours in Cumbria...I have acquired 17 wheelie bins, three sheds and ten sets of bedding in my garden...

Woke to a light covering of snow and the forecast for today and tomorrow is for 'Strong winds and Heavy Snow'. And it's just started snowing again!

We have alternated between sunshine and monsoon showers today, still gusts when it rains, but nowhere near what it was like yesterday

Had a tiny bit of sleety snow for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it this afternoon, but it's still around as it's below freezing.
Well i've known worse but this windy weather has never relented all day.
Rather hefty at times and then hail rolling down the street like a mini avalanche.
Now that's something i've never seen before

It's Yogi and Fluffy in Scotland.
Today it's supposed to be sleet showers all day accompanied by strong winds.
Right now it is dry, calm and relatively bright, but with total cloud cover. However it is rather dark towards the horizon, so I think the next dollop of precipitation is not far away!
Met Office has issued a yellow warnng for wind for Saturday from noon for the rest of the day. They've named it Storm Dennis. Covers everywhere south of a line from Lancaster on the west to Whitby on the east. They say it's not expected to be as bad as Storm Ciara.

Well it was really calm so i went out to the newsagents - suddenly lashing snow!!!
Scotland - we’ve had, strong winds, snow, sleet and thunder and lightning. Blowing a hoolie atm.
Light covering of snow overnight...……..and another light covering in the last hour, but there's no wind to speak of and the sky just now is blue!
12:30 and it's snowing again.
And 12:50 and it's sunny again.

Had it on Tuesday and Wednesday and, yes, it is unusual in wintery weather
NEWCASTLE - come 6pm and the wind just disappeared like nothing ever happened.
Zero wind now and icy - that's better
