This is why Jan, Feb and March are rubbish

If I could I would leave the country - these months have no purpose and are depressing.

PLEASE feed them birdies who I fret about in this climate

Bird boxes are a must for the summer

I’ve just been out and replenished my bird feeders

NEWCASTLE

We've had approx. one inch of snow this evening covering people's footsteps.

Wind has been wiping it off the roofs into a blizzard at times.

God help those poor wild animals

You're lucky. I guestimate we had 3-4 inches of snow though the day. I now think we've had another inch. I've sent pics to other Fm's who can vouch for that and I live in the North East too

Poole:

4 inches of snow here. Virtually snowed in! I was planning on travelling home on Friday, but that's been postponed until Saturday now.

Our garage door has been frozen shut - so literally we've been 'snowed in' over the last few days.

We live on a hill and daren't even try going out in the car.

We are down to 4 toilet rolls.

Oh the humanity !!! I mean . . .  humility

 what route did you choose?

You must have seen the broad spread of weather conditions across the country.

Any observations?

Walk from sister's house to bus station

Bus from Poole to Bournemouth

Train from Bournemouth to London Waterloo

Underground from Waterloo to Euston

Train from Euston to Carlisle

Coach from Carlisle to Glasgow

Train from Glasgow to Wishaw

Car from Wishaw to home

I couldn't see much really and I dozed a lot. What I could see didn't look that terribly bad, but this was after 3 days of clearing up operations! And by the time we got to where one might have expected the worst conditions.........it was dark and could see even less!

Having said that, there still was quite a lot of snow around, like piled up on exposed platforms and such.
