Well said Rexi.

Ducky

I am fine with Fluffs and El , both fair folk in my opinion.
I love this community and if it means saving it i see no problem with FM,s modding each other, and to be honest i dont get the dramatics of some....

I am not bothered with my email address being known, i use my hotmail one, so it can be easily changed if there were to be any problems , which i dont foresee to be to honest.

All looks fine to me

Exactly...........We would all call in Judge Judy to sort it out.

Why arent you happy Baz? Sorry havent really read all the posts , i have been away x

I think we should give El, fluffy and anyone else a chance before we start complaining. If people are prepared to give their time and effort the least we can do is try to support them...BB will be on again soon. If we lose the forum because there are no Mods I for one will be very upset....Lets just see how it goes before jumping ship!!!!....as Zazz says if we do nothing wrong whats the problem?...X

"New Terms of Service (we never had one before).. you'll be asked to agree to it the next time you sign-in, if that has not happened to you already.  This just lays the groundrules for accepted behavior for the site."

^^ Lifted from Ted's message. If FM's agree to abide to the guidelines they're agreeing to take personal responsibility for their posts. Mods would only become involved if the guidelines were being misused. That's basically how it works on any Forum that has Terms/Conditions.

The Forum's being offered new opportunities to go forward. It would be a positive step if what's happened in the past is left in the past so that everyone could enjoy their time here. Wouldn't the majority agree that's better than having no Forum at all?

It said something about not posting anything that infringes international copyright laws... does this mean no more youtube videos?

I raised a question about youtube videos quite some time ago with Lori. She replied to me saying:

"Both of the movies referenced were posted from YouTube, so they are not our responsibility. If YouTube removes them due to copyright issues, the movies will no longer be able to be viewed from our forums.

If a movie is downloaded to a computer and THEN uploaded to our forums, copyright becomes an issue."

So I don't think there is any problem with posting Youtube videos. I've posted lots myself.

Why don't they/we do a rotating mod-ship?

Ted is saying that if no-one came forward willing to be a moderator from here that it would put the future of this forum at risk. He did not intend it as a threat. In any case some people have already indicated to Ted that they are interested, so don't panic yet.

However you like to dress it up, it sounded very much like a threat to me.

Or at least a "like it or lump it".

I understand the reasons for the changes but I can't shake of the feeling that we're surplus to requirement.  This is not meant in a spiteful way, I'm just quite sad about the whole thing.

Sorry if this offends anyone, but I just think that we all need to grow up and get real about this. GaGaJoyJoy(etc) is a business, why the hell would anyone expect them to operate as a charity and pay staff to do a job moderating, what, at the end of the day, is often silly, playground politics?.....He said/she said, oh I remember him/her, s/he has alt/multi ids, s/he is a previously banned member with a new id blah, blah, blah ad nauseum. Yeah, we all know who they are, none of us are stupid (some are better behaved now.....everyone should have a chance!)

Ha ha, that  makes me sound holier than though! The recent spat that I got caught up in involved someone who has had more ids and bannings that I can mention! But, tbf, he/she was, it appeared, trying to 'move on' and had, at least, stopped posting with themself some time ago

Let's be honest, we all know of several 'banned' members who are on here every day, with a different id. There are two I can think of, in particular, who, as it happens, add more to this forum than most!

I like the new rules that we're signing up to, there's a sense of maturity and  'adultness' about them. However, God help those who've volunteered to be mods, there will, no doubt be a 'free for all' in the initial stages and there'll be people coming out of the woodwork to 'test them' (I'm expecting a sudden surge in membership!)... BUT, I hope, it'll settle down eventually!

Totally agree  although I'm not one who knows who "they" all are, I see posts about all that but never get involved. In general I take each post as it appears regardless of who the poster is, or was as the case may be.

Agree with this too. I can't remember when I moved over here from C4 whether I signed up to any Agreement or not but I'm used to doing that on Forums I want to take part in. Good Forums have boundaries and good Mods, without them chaos can reign if/when troublemakers move in.

Don't worry, I'm fully aware and appreciate that your misgivings are not aimed at any particular person, more about the situation in general.

As I may have said, I'm a bit nervous myself, but whichever way we'll ALL just have to wait and see how it all pans out.

There will be people who test the waters like a toddler testing their parents. We all saw it when we first moved here. With a "friend" being a mod I can see it happening again.

I didnt know that, but new beginnings and all that....well hopefully..

Personally i would like some folk to give up with C4 , its in the past isnt it? Finding it rather boring, harping on and on to be honest..
