Don’t think I could do that with birds

I could work with birds

Don’t think I could ....I like watching them through the window ....but tbh once they start flapping around they scare me

Years of being in my dad’s racing pigeon loft means birds hold no fear for me

I think that’s exactly what put me off ....having to go up in my uncles pigeon loft

I love holding them, they are so warm and soft.

Son says they bought nail clippers and check their nails every few weeks

I don’t think I’d be able to do it myself

I think they do it together so maybe you could hold Sammy and get your daughter to do the clipping. I used to clip Keira’s nails by myself.

We have enough trouble dropping the flea stuff on her

A nurse at the vets could do it for you

I love Dexter

Have you not considered another one ?

We think about it all the time but my energy levels aren’t great atm and you need to be high energy for a pup - and I would always get a pup so I trained it myself and had a close bond.

Well maybe if you get your meds sorted .....

Yes

The kids love him

He is so laidback, he reminds me of my first golden retriever - she was brilliant with kids.

Yes , one of my friends down south had a lovely retriever ....the kids loved her .....and we never worried when they went out to play if she was there .....cos although she was brilliant with the kids ...and let them pull her around ....she was also very , very protective of them

Both Bonnie and Keira were very protective of our kids and grandkids.

They were both β€œmy” dogs and were very protective of me too
