My great grandparents came from Mayo

I’ve got some Irish ancestry but no idea which part of Ireland they came from

yes same here - unfortunately mine were orange Irish - my  mum used to whisper it

I need to get more info on mine but my mum is useless on family history....she couldn’t even remember her Grandad’s Christian name because she β€œjust called him Grandpa”

I inherited the birth , marriage and death certificates for my mums parents ....so had a good start ....but know very little of my dads side of the family

One of dad’s cousins did a family tree, going right back, on my dad’s mum’s side of the family but I’ve never seen it.
