I'm on a roll - Xanadu made it for me.

Rather unpleasantly, I got the dog-killing question for 3 points.

Otherwise, a few 2-pointers: Xanadu, Cuthbert (really pleased about that one!   ), Sine, and Ocean's films.

Am kicking myself over the Rolling Stones and Agatha Christie questions, though...

The maths question completely flummoxed me. I'm terrible at maths.

Well...

it's taken all series, I left it to the second-last Sequence question, and to be honest it was all a bit of a guess in the end, but...

 I GOT A 5-POINTER!

It was on "Double Your Money", and as I've already said it was appropriately a bit of a gamble: TBH I wasn't entirely sure of the actual sequence (for the first 5 years of its run, the top prize on DYM was the more mathematically-correct ÂĢ1,024, not ÂĢ1,000), however considering the difficulty of this series, and particularly that Final, I'm taking it!

Only Connect Final   !!!!!

WOW

Some of those questions blew my mind. Don't think I got anything right, apart from the second wall, where I was gifted the palindrome from the previous wall.

The Walls were insane.

That said: even on the first one I was practically shouting "PALINDROMES!" at the screen. I just couldn't believe they couldn't see it...

(Of course some of them could, but they fell into the old trap of assuming "It can't be that easy, can it?" They all got rather obsessed with IP addresses instead...)

Eye Level. Quite good in period but doesn't beat The Sweeney closing theme. Not much does

We have a guy at work who likes to play themes from the 60s/70s and 80s on his phone in the office. Gets the kids to guess the show - they don't have a clue.  They can't tell the difference between The Sweeney, Starsky and Hutch and Captain Scarlet.

I have just noticed that on ITV @ 8pm they are re-hashing Van Der Valk. I'm going to watch first 5 mins to see if they use the same theme tune!

Open question to anyone who's now seen the first episode of the "Van der Valk" reboot: is it any good?

I didn't watch it on Sunday because there were a lot of other things on - in particular, the latest episode of "Killing Eve". However, ITV are repeating it tonight (Thurs) at 10.45pm. Is it worth 90 minutes or so of my time?

Sorry Eugene, I switched over and started watching Primates so only saw about 5-10 mins of it. I did not see enough to form an opinion.

A bit of a heads-up for "Comedy on Four" fans:

Some of you may already be aware of this, but C4 have recently adapted their Friday night schedule to provide binge-fests of their comedy back-catalogue.

Tonight (10pm) sees the final episode of series 6 of "Friday Night Dinner", but it will immediately be followed by the entire first series!

Next Friday (starting 11.05pm), C4 will broadcast the whole first series of the incomparable "Spaced".

Are they showing 'Nighty Night' ?

I thought I saw a clip. To me, it's a blindingly funny dark comedy. I own it. There are scenes, especially some outtakes that have me in tears of laughter. Anything with Glen Bulb and Jill.

Wasn't Nighty Night" a BBC Three series?

As far as C4 goes, they showed the first series of "The Inbetweeners" last week, but I've no idea what their plans are after "Spaced".

I'm assuming the idea is to advertise their comedy back-catalogue, and hook both old fans and newcomers into watching the rest on C4's "On Demand"  service. However I'm unsure what the criteria is here: "Friday Night Dinner" made sense because it's gradually built up its audience over six years so there's likely to be quite a few fans who haven't seen the early series. However "Spaced" is over 20 years old and only ran for two series, so they're actually showing half of the entire show next Friday.

If I had to place a bet, it would be on "Green Wing" being next. "Phoenix Nights" would be another likely candidate as it recently came top of a poll of C4 shows the GBP wanted to bring back, however there really is talk about a new series of that one, so C4 might decide to keep their powder dry for the time-being...

FWIW, I just saw said clip: it was a BBC iPlayer ad for their own comedy back-catalogue. "Nighty Night" was shown alongside the likes of "Extras" and Porridge", so clearly trying to show their range...

Well: turns out I was wrong: next Friday (the 15th) C4 are showing the whole first series of "Black Books" (the show which really launched Tasmin Greig's career, leading to "Green Wing" 4 afterwards).

Just a reminder that the whole first series of "Spaced" is on C4 tonight, starting 11.05pm...

For those interested:

Tonight's C4 Comedy binge is the entire first series of "The IT Crowd", starting from 11.05pm. This therefore includes the legendary "Red Door" episode, featuring an early guest appearance by a (now) very well-known comedian...

Next Friday sees C4 come more up-to-date with the first series of "Derry Girls".

I'm a big fan of The I.T. Crowd. I thought C.M. as Denholm Reynholm was a great character, but with the introduction of M.B as Douglas brought some very funny moments. Yes, "The Red Door" was a good episode, I loved the character portrayed by a well known comedian (not sure why we are talking in code as I doubt many on here will watch it), especially the backstory in flashbacks, the 'Cradle of Filth' moment was brilliant.

My favourite episode was the 'Peter File' episode or to give it the proper name "The Dinner Party". Along with "Moss and the German".
