Obviously I don't want the Tories in, but I think she could do a better job than those other dunderheids

I can tell you something Sprout, the Police of this nation would rather she did not. They are mightily pi**ed off with her and view her as the devil's apprentice. I was talking to a couple of officers today and I can't print what they said.

So....an alternative?

Although she is extremely unpopular at work (TM), one person did say that what we need now is a tough, rottweiler type of leader to get the best deals for the UK when dealing with other countries - one point of view I guess.

We do need a Rottweiler.......but there isn't one in any party as far as I can see...we're doomed I tell you doomed ( said in best dad's army accent)

As I said in the other thread.......she scares me and that is below the belt for anyone of any political persuasion

Unfortunately this is fairly common in Tory leadership campaigns. The new issue of Private Eye quotes IDS backing Leadsom against May because of her "strong family background", and points out that Norman Tebbit made the same point when he supported IDS over Michael Portillo for the leadership in 2001 ("He is a remarkably normal family man with children.").

Needless to say, Tebbit's also supporting Leadsom...

So it's no longer Theresa May as Theresa will

I know

So the country is going to be run by a leader who no one, not even the Tory Party, has elected by vote. Would that be correct?

Andrea Ledsom's reasoning for withdrawing from her leadership challenge was?

We need to get a new leader in place as soon as possible

Well why the heck bother to put yourself forward in the first place then?

The reason I read was because of the flack she got for the 'I'm a mother, she's not' comment.      If she breaks under that strain she's better off at home knitting and feeding the kids...
