Me too ...............I can get a decent bottle of wine for what they charge for an average sized glass in some places.

I realise that there are overheads etc. but .....................I'd rather stay in the comfort of my own home - I begrudge paying silly money TBH.

yes of course, a cheapish bottle from your local is way better

I wouldn't mind but most pubs are only serving the cheap stuff at extortinate prices anyway .......some pubs serve a better wine but .....not that many.

A small drink like malibu & coke should be £0.70!!!

Where are you drinking to get a pint for £1.80?, I paid £2.60 for a pint of bitter yesterday.

staff service
glasses
glass cleaning
music/ambience
tables and cleaning
venue overheads like lighting.

therefore it doesnt work out that expensive overall. profit margins arent even that great in bars n clubs, hence entrance fees. u neva just pay for the item.

I don't mind paying a couple of quid for well kept ale, but the idea of paying pub prices for fizzy lager... er, shite or the silly drinks mentioned earlier is just plain daft.
DannielJ has the right idea.
