I remember thinking these two were typical school swots where everything went right.

Their homework, exams and experiments in chemistry class - top marks all round

Or they were evil bosses with fake grins

No, well I don't think it is. I found the picture whilst searching the Interweb and thought, wow! they look young. That was the only motivation to post. It could well be an advert for a real podcast.

That photo almost certainly predates the invention of the World Wide Web, never mind podcasts!

Anne Diamond first worked with Nick on the newly-formed Central Television in 1982, though that promo shot probably comes from "Good Morning Britain" the following year. Anne would have been 28 and Nick 35 when that show started on TV-am.

Yes, I could have been a bit clearer in my post. You are correct (and I knew the picture/timeframe was wrong for podcasts). What I should have said is that it could well be a comedy sketch podcast or an old picture used on a newer podcast programme.

I have the Fulham v Arsenal game on. If this is a sample of the 2020/2021 English football to come. I won’t be watching very often.

More passes across and back than forward

This stupid rule not only allowing players in the area for a goal/free kick but if they aren’t used to wait for them to run up the pitch before the kick is taken

Players committing a foul then be allowed by the ref to pick the ball up and walk away with it with no action taken

Just had a frustrating afternoon/early evening with my Freeview reception down for around five hours!

From what I could find online, "updates" on transmitter problems don't seem to be very reliable and it was getting to the stage where I was concerned something was wrong with my receiver or aerial. Thankfully it's all back to normal now, though.

Glad it’s working ok now Eugene

I used to like "Not Going Out", the comedy, that is!  But this year it was like being waterboarded.  Whoever thought a New Year's Special with the characters ripping each other's personalities to bits would be funny.  Well, whoever thought it would be, they were terribly wrong.

Its only saving grace was it was Bobby Ball's last TV appearance.

My Freeview reception has been awful over the Xmas week.  The transmitter info page suggested no issues. It has cleared up quite a lot today but Xmas day and Boxing day were hopeless.  Usually, it's better in winter than in summer but I've put it down the cold weather and whatever atmospherics that might have caused.

Funnily enough, I had another outage yesterday afternoon (New Year's Day), though thankfully this time it was fairly short (<30mins).

When Freeview first started I had a lot of problems as I live close to the borders of 3 different TV regions and reception from all of them was fairly weak. Things have improved enormously since then, however, and one of the main reasons the recent reception losses have taken me by surprise is that I'm struggling to remember the last time I had one. Also, previous outages were usually in the small hours of the morning, so were most likely due to scheduled engineering work. I think you may be right about atmospherics, though...

I can assure you all you missed was a teenage nervous breakdown by Nazareth. Carnelian.

Telly doesn't exist.
