It was my nieces 21st yesterday, she is heavily pregnant with baby Archie and seeing as he didn't come yesterday, we've got our fingers crossed that he comes next Wednesday now.

I thought that too Cinds, i thought that was impossible in this country as T&Cs stopped coupons being doubled up etc

My grand son Jack was due on the 18th December ...................his mum went into labour 9.30pm on Christmas Eve and he was born at 1.40am on Christmas Day ......a really fantastic Christmas present - the best ever but - a horrible day to have a birthday!

True! My uncle's birthday is Christmas Day and everyone always forgets, or it's an afterthought "Merry Christmas, oh and Happy Birthday too". I always thought it would be great - double presents! But it's really not like that and it must be crap having your birthday then! I know someone who's birthday is Christmas Eve and she thinks that's pretty crap too

My younger brother was born on Christmas Day, my parents foresaw the doubling up of presents being an issue so my brother always got a massive main present on my birthday in April and it stayed like that at least until we all left home. It worked really well because he had 4 months to look forward to something again, and it gave my parents time to save the money  It's not so much of an issue now because he's about to turn 37 and he could probably buy the whole family out 3 or 4 times over anyway 

Oh, and I suppose the this is the place to put this...my son is interviewing Nick Clegg today. I told my boy to give him hell

Talking of Christmas birthdays .................does anyone remember Christmas Baby who used to post on Ch4 (and here for a while I think) - I really liked her. It's sad so many didn't make the move isn't it?

I recall the name Soozy but don't remember much about them. Don't remember that many C4 posters that dropped away - mainly the  ones 

Christmas is a crap time for a birthday.  People give you one pressie and say that's for both.  Cheap skates!  They used to do it to me and my birthday is at the start of December.

My eldest turns 12 on Saturday.  TWELVE!! We're going to the shooting range where him and his mates can do target practice and archery and get something to eat.  Sounds a little bit violent but it's a kids party package and we went there last year and he loved it.  It's a bit of a drive away though so hopefully the roads are ok

That sounds good ...my grand son (the other one) is 12 on Jan 4th. Very hard to know what to do on birthdays at that age. Don't think we've got anything like that^^^ round here - I know he'd love it. Last year he did Go Karting with some mates - think we'll do the same again this time!

Soozy it's a nightmare!  They think they're too cool for everything these days.

That and go-karting are about the only options for his age group.  The place we're going to also does mini-golf and ice skating (but apparently that's for girls?!) so it's a good all rounder for parties.

I've just made two 'sweet trees' they look lovely. The 'Round Table are doing their Santa round tomorrow night ......a big jeep pulling a sleigh with Santa and lots of loud Christmas music ..always a good night. I'll get the sweet trees out then. Got my grand sons here and my son and his partner are home from Manchester tomorrow lunchtime .............very exciting. I can't get Christmassy until I have all the family together.

The sweet trees are gonna be converted to pigs in blanket and stuffing trees for the Christmas table.
