What is it with us, that we need alkeehol to settle us down. Or is that only me 
It's only you. We made do cautiously with several cans of OSH, some G&T and sambuca.
We have no duties for a few days.

I used to drink in a pub that had a sign behind the bar informing drinkers that their 5th pint of speckled hen would be free of charge!

Isn't Merlot blue though? Maybe I've ad too much to drink!
Merlot can be got in both red and white, though red is the more common. As I do not care for red wine I am quite happy with a white merlot. Asda does, or used to, sell the white version, but I haven't had it for a few years now!
P.S. It might come in a blue bottle though!!
Red or White, whatever your tipple, with whatever you fancy to nibble on ......
