I hadn't noticed that her eyebrows have shaved bits in them before...but have been under the hat

Keeva was seen plucking them on the highlights show! The origins of notchs in the eyebrow are quite sinister. Apparantly gang members would add notches to show how many they had killed!

On the subject of tattoos, does anyone know what Steve has written on his neck? i have been trying to figure it out for ages!

I'm thinking she's done it to be 'cool' in one of those 'I've got this cool straight edge tattoo but my day to day existence totally contradicts the ideals behind the straight edge lifestyle in every conceivable way' kind of things......
Well, that's the natural assumption with anything regarding Shabby, but I'm not so sure in this case. It may well be linked to her punk band, but if it is then an affectation (to some extent), then it's a risky one.

Exponents of Straight Edge tend to regard it as a very serious lifestyle choice, and don't take kindly to people affecting it to look cool.
Also: we don't know when Shabby had it done, but if it was a while ago (say, in her teens/early 20s), she'd have been around when there were still remnants of militant SE, and they really wouldn't have been happy about such an affectation.

I can't help wondering if the tattoo is, in a very real sense, a vestige of something she went through when she was younger, but has now grown out of?

BTW: leaving aside Shabby's very non-sXe attitude to smoking, alcohol and sex, it also may bring into question her behaviour towards Sunshine. Although it's not a "core" part of the philosophy, a lot of those involved in Straight Edge tend to be vegetarian/vegan...

Well........i am just not getting Shabby, sometimes i think she talks sense then she goes off on one. She has obviously been educated and has rebelled against something, i noticed her tattoos also and the Jewish concentration camp thing. What does annoy me is she wont let anyone else shine in there and is very camera savvy and is fully aware of the airtime she is getting. She is not sure tho if it is positive or negative, so after she nominates she makes sure she backtracks and says something nice about the person she has nommed, aka Sunshine. She knows about the E4 live, so she always says stuff then, late at night. She is one clever person

You couldn't escape the term in the late nineties and early noughties as Kerrang and MTV brought that particular strand of Hardcore to the masses. But of the hordes of 15-year-olds that bought into it as an alternative or a serious lifestyle choice - i wonder what percentage are still living the lifestyle today?

Shabby's current lifestyle would seemingly be the antithesis of Straight Edge.

That's pretty-much the point I was trying to make.

The key question here is: When did she get the tattoo done?

If it was a while ago, then - as you say - it's probably something she got into in her youth but grew out of.

If it's recent, then I would suggest it's more likely to be an affectation - possibly linked to her band.
