Had a quick glance at the latest betting odds on the leadership contenders:

Bit of a mixed bag for Johnson: now around 1/7.

Hunt's and Stewart's odds have shortened: around 14/1 and 8/1 respectively.

Little change for Gove. Javid is now considered less likely to be the next Prime Minister than either Jeremy Corbyn or Nigel Farage...

I can assure you Rory the Tory is a prat through and through he just doesn't seem as bad as the rest...but Fred West would have looked reasonable in that line up....

Not mine but a friends post...

The 5 remaining Conservative candidates to become PM have had 9 years to help the sick, poor, homeless, vulnerable, pensioners, and the 1950’s women.
9 years to help the doctors, nurses, policemen, firemen, teachers and low paid workers.
In that 9 years these Despicable men of the Tory party have created the Windrush Generation Scandal, Austerity, Grenfell Tower victims still waiting to be housed, NHS in crisis, mental health and social care at breaking point, Universal credit to name a few. Each and every one of those 5 mens’ voting records speaks volumes of which side they are on. . Their promises tonight are broken promises. You have had 9 years to help the most vulnerable in our society and in that 9 years you have turned the other cheek

You can include the Police in that list. 2008-2018, reduction in officer numbers, support staff numbers cut and 2 pay rises of 1% in that period, 2019 I admit was higher at 2%.

I felt Emily Maitlis could have done a better job of controlling the group and keeping them on topic. Too much wandering around talking about the things they believe will gain them votes.

It was amusing to see Boris verbally dancing around, clearly struggling to remember the Muslim chaps name from Bristol. Yet he could remember the name of others.

Rory's tactic was clear, but I'm not sure it will win him many votes.

Got my date slightly wrong.  2019 should be 2018. !!

I am really not interested in this circus, yes, one of these prats will be the next pm,  but at the moment I can't vote, only Tory mps can do that followed by Tory party members. It seems to be a party political broadcast for the nasty party and whoever wins, it will still be the nasty party.

That is exactly what it is Machel...you wanna see tonight's question time lineup, poor Laura Piddock against the rest. The only thing that stops me paying my TV license is because I watch live TV. It's supposed to be a public company, but David Moron got rid of the board and stuffed it to the rafters with Tories.

Our media is so far right it's scary....  never mind, as Jonathon Pie said *the Tories have an inexhaustible supply of barstewards* and we are likely to have the biggest barsteward of them all as PM ...BJ or Hunt, oh joy.

I so wish we could have Jeremy v Jeremy at Prime Minister's Questions.

As it is it will probably end up being A Hole v A Hole

No, only one of them's the A hole

That’s a matter of opinion

You're right, and I happen to have a different opinion to you

I'm not talking about his military record or diplomatic record Twickers. He was parachuted into a safe seat and with weeks upset locals by calling them primitive, tying their trousers up with string etc... He's never lived in a rural community and insulting them wasn't a great start.

He applauds Jeremy Corbyn's campaigning style and it was obvious from day one that Rory Stewart wanted to come across as a man of the people, understanding the struggles of Cumbria...sadly his voting record is just the opposite. My book, he's a prat.

I know Twickers  I do know a bit about Rory the Tory though and he's not all that he seems and certainly nothing like the we saw bloke last week  Saying that, he was by far less scary than the two that's left, one is destroying the NHS and the other wants to flog it to Donny
