Rebekah Brooks and her husband, Charlie, are being charged with perverting the course of justice as part of the phone hacking inquiry.
Mrs Brooks is facing three charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice while her husband faces two.
Mrs Brooks's PA, Cheryl Carter, her chauffeur, Paul Edwards, security staff member Daryl Jorsling and News International head of security Mark Hanna have also been charged.

The counts on which they're being charged do deem very specific - it's taken long enough to put the case together. I can't see the CPS going ahead unless they were very confident. I know it's awful to say but .......................I'd really love to see her bought down a peg or too. She's far too cock sure for my liking - I bet she's really hard nosed.

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair is godfather to one of Rupert Murdoch's young children, it has emerged.
Mr Blair was present last March when Mr Murdoch's two daughters by his third wife, Wendi Deng, were baptised.

Well of course he is - just like Thatcher was reputed to be. The irony is that the inequality of opportunity created by his favoured type of laissez faire market-knows-best capitalism reduces social mobility. It allows the wealthy (which must include the aristocracy) to get a larger slice of the pie to build a greater war-chest to pull the levers of patronage and privilege by schooling, inheritances, internships and trust funds. IMO of course!
In my view, the unintended (or perhaps intended) consequence of Thatcherism that Murdoch and DM hacks much admire, is that rather than creating a thrusting, confident, entrepreneurial working/middle class that would clear out the privileged deadwood - as the rhetoric implied - it mostly benefited the old school tie brigade.
Still, I do agree with him on the Monarchy.
