Someone posted a thread a while ago about this project with an explanation, but frankly I'm too lazy to find it. Basically you take a photo a day for a year and document them as you see fit (I'm using Flickr and Facebook). At the time I remember a few people saying they were going to give it a go, and was wondering if anyone is still doing it? I'm still doing mine and am really enjoying it now

P.S It should really be Project 366 this year

yeah, that

I did it for a week

I think what put me off was not being able to find a suitable program to upload it too. I joined flikr, but that was still a bit hit and miss.  I wanted one that when I sat down at the end of the week and uploaded them in one go it would neatly allocate days for me.

Would be great if there was an online calender type program. Someone's bound to invent one in time for next year ... I may try again.   Or i may start mid-year if one comes about.

Glad you are sticking with yours, I bet it will be really interesting to look through it at the end.

oh hey Gyps! Yeah, I know what you mean, calendar format would be nice and organised and I would prefer that. At the minute I am doing the full month, then sharing it on Facebook so people get to see it as I intended Some people have got me as a friend or whatever it is on Flickr so they see each day as I upload it - I am trying to do a day at a time now, but sometimes it's 2 days at once if I was too busy or tired

This was the original thread

I alerted people on here to this project  during the first week in January... Thanks for bringing it to our attention again Sazbomb.    I have been doing it, and have stuck to it, and am actually really enjoying it.  It's surprising how many things DO happen during the day/week.  Nice to see others have joined in.  I actually know about 10 people (personally) who are doing it.  (And yes it IS project 366!)

I will keep a look out for your pics on facebook, look forward to seeing them.

I saw a couple of peoples (via that initial link that was posted here) that were in a monthly collage, that must have taken them ages to do that for each pic for each month, but it looked cool,  if someone could do an easy program like that, it would be ideal.

Yeah, I'm surprised that there is pretty much always something to take a photo of. So far this month, only 2 of food! About 3 of me already, how terribly vain especially for someone who doesn't like having their photo taken

SazBomb

I've got various pics of the kids and their mates, a few of relatives, the cats, the neighbours, a mouse I found, a robin I saw, a few pics of the telly with big news items on, my daughters' new bright red hair, the snow, the ice, a nice sunset, a rainbow, the river almost overflowing.  Sooooo many things.. I am loving it.

I'm gutted because I'll now have to wait nearly a whole year to start my own. (I'm waaay too pedantic to start mid year

I can't find your pics on FB though Saz  ....can I have directions please?

I posted a link on my wall at the end of Jan, I think I'll have to PM it to you!

What I've found interesting too is finding out what other people like looking at. There are photos that I have really thought about the angles, light etc and I think are really ace but they are never as popular as some of my more random ones - Flickr shows you how many views each photo has. My personal faves are doing ok, but in January the most viewed pic was the one I took of 3 buses all arriving at the stop together. Not a very interesting subject matter AND poor quality cos I took it on my mobile quickly as I actually wanted to get on one of said buses Although I think it is now jointly most viewed with the photo of a stack of empty plates at Yo sushi

I did have to read that twice Ducky Mam is definitely a North East thing, and I think Welsh too? Where else uses it then?

The egg is one of my fave pics this month - I have found a few more since and keep taking a pic of each one But that one is still my favourite I might go and look for more at the weekend, apparently there are 26 in Covent Gardens

SazBomb

Is Hull North Eastern enough to count? That's where we got it from. I now live somewhere that doesn't use that term.... but she'll always be me mam to me

I love the egg thing! They have the same affect on me that the gherkin has...... I just wanna touch it!!!

(I went to visit the gherkin once, with the sole intention of copping a feel......

For the ones who regret not starting (ducky was one I think,) if you are someone that takes lots of pics, and you have taken quite a few random pics this year, you can 'catch up'  (And then start taking them daily from now on...)  That is if you can be bothered to post 62 or so pics and put a wee rough description on each one.  At least you can have 10 months of photos out of the 12 that are more or less bang on accurate to the actual days.  (And the first 2 will be close enough...)

Some people do cheat a wee bit.  My pal had 4 things happen over 2 days, but spread the 4 pics over 4 days, as there was 2 days when lots happened, and then the following 2 when nothing happened.  Cheating a bit, but it's still a photo blog of what is going on that week and what is going on in your life.

My next door neighbour (and another friend of mine,) didn't start til 28th Jan, and she is a snapper like me, and had taken several dozen pics since new years day, and she kind of 'caught up,' by posting the first 27 days on one day with the 'rough' dates, and then has done them daily since.

Still enjoying mine  My latest are...

A pic of the moon with Jupiter and Venus and the International Space Station that were all in the sky at once the other night.

A FOX I saw on a walk around the woods

A robin

A ladybird

My hubby in Maccy D's as it's the first time we had been for 6 months.

A snap of the news on the telly, as i felt there had been a lot of news this week and then a rundown on the description of the 7 or 8 news items from that bulletin

A pic I took of the telly with the BRITS on

A pic I took at my neighbour's birthday party.

A pic of a seagull on my roof the other afternoon with the blue sky in the background, with the MOON out

And there are many more...

Yep it is great fun!

Did you stroke it? I have stroked a few of the pretty eggs Got my pic taken with one today, cos someone asked for a scale reference so they knew how big they are

No They have a bloody great slope from the path to the actual building to deter people, and there were people around so I didn't dare make a break for it

Funny you should say that. I had decided to wait till Jan 1st...cos I was too anal to consider cheating or starting late. But I had a brainwave about an hour ago!

It's my birthday in 3 weeks, so I'm going to buy myself a digital camera and then do it from birthday to birthday. That feels ok somehow
