RIP Pete Shelley

Got my first Buzzcocks record as a Birthday pressie from my brother Sept 1980 - their latest single: Are Everything/Why she's a girl from the Chain-store.

Just hitting my teens I had missed Punk - but I was developing a taste (somewhat out of step) for the music and attitude. Recall trading my Specials debut album with a classmate for Never mind the Bollocks and the Bad Manners debut for Young, loud and snotty.

Pete Shelley, Steve Diggle and co. made a big musical impression on me and within a few months I had tracked down most of their back catalogue - though sadly they called it a day around this time.

Cold Sweat
