I was invited to an Oxbridge open evening at the kids school (Eldest is and always has been an A* student) If I'm honest i was put off... It's like a little bubble slightly outside the real world, obviously i haven't said this to my daughter as it's her life her choice.

Did you attend?

The open evening? Yes, there were two students from her school who had been accepted (one into each) and a representative from Cambridge who explained the application process etc.

Yes - when I visited Oxford it seemed a bit like that

Beautiful and bustling  . . . but in it's own bubble.

For me that's part of the attraction but not sure if that would wear off after a while.

Oxford, Cambridge, York, Chester, Durham (perhaps) all isolated
