Out of date cheque - help!!

 . . . and you're not allowed to say,

"I don't know - hope that helps", ok  -  I have the corner on 'stupidity as humour' around here

I have a cheque issued by the Canadian Gov in 2002 for $45

Forgot I ever had it

Does anyone know if I can have it reissued and whom I would contact?

You can cash a Government of Canada cheque no matter how old it is. Government of Canada cheques don’t have an expiry date and never become stale-dated. However, it may take longer to cash an older cheque because a financial institution may first want to verify that the cheque is legitimate.

If you’re having a problem cashing an old federal government cheque, send it to the Cheque Redemption and Control Directorate. Ask to have it reissued with a current date.

Saint, if you do need to post it to that address, you'll need to add Canada at the end of the address.

Only joking - yes I would defo add that

Wonder if they'll send a cheque to UK?
