Someone in my family is in the publishing world and has contacts with peeps in the press. He has heard on the grapevine more than once that there is a press embargo on a story relating to Steven Gerrard. Apparently he has got a fifteen year old pregnant but the press are under instructions to keep it under wraps for the time being.

His sources are usually fairly accurate - it certainly might explain the poor mental attitude that the players appear to have had. Especially following so closely after the Terry/Cole revelations. It might also explain Capellos apparent foul mood.

Who knows if it's true - I guess we'll have to wait and see.

i heard that story going around just before the end of the footy season Soozy - it also mentioned that he was going to leave Liverpool in the closed season and go abroad to get away from the british press

his house is up for sale but that could be because they were raided

who knows guess the story will come out eventually if its true

As I understand it - the embargo was only on for the duration of The world Cup (morale and all that) the proverbial may hit the fan very soon.

Sorry but lol .  No judge is going to say, " Yes Mr Gerrard, you may have an injunction - but to be honest only for the month of the world cup.  Or more likely the fortnight you'll actually be involved in it.  Now sod orf! "

Nothing to do with the Judge. it will only come to court if the girl presses charges. I'm talking a press embargo.

Do you have a single clue what you are talking about?

There is no such thing as a 'press embargo'.  There are injunctions.  These are granted by judges.  So, pretty much everything to do with a judge.

Not if she's 15. He can still be prosecuted without her consent.
I understood the girl had to press charges and that's why parents who have daughters that run off with older boys/men can't be forced to go home even though technically sleeping with them means it's under aged sex

either way if this does turn out to be true (Gerrard getting her preggers) then it's bad as she's under age.  However, we know not how old she looks or what age she told him she was so it's all speculation - but I lubs a good gossip

they're a crap team??? *runs*
And perhaps not such a wonderful manager as he appeared to be. I can't wait for the stories to spill out ..............reading between the lines he's been a bit of a control freak .....it may work well at times but when they're all a long way from home and their loved ones I bet the atmosphere was like a pressure cooker.

Really? Do you know what your talking about? ......It doesn't have to be legally enforced - it can be some sort of 'gentlemens agreement'. Nothing to do with injunctions - quite a different thing altogether

Don't be absurd.  There are no 'gentlemen's agreements' in the British press - to say nothing of the foreign press.

To use your fanciful notion don't you think it a little strange that none of the German newspapers have splashed on this story in the lead up to today's match?  Don't you?  You can be damned sure the News of the World would have done if they had that kind of juice on the captain of the German football team.

Sorry, but you are talking nonsense.

Our press is not run like that went it comes to sports personalities.

This post should really be in the appropriate thread but what the hell. FWIW and IMHO, I don't think Capello has been the most personable of managers. David James said he doesn't address him by his name, instead calls him 'eh you' and 'goalkeeper'. Also the decision of who to play and where and how to play them (i.e. playing Gerrard on the left and taking him out of his comfort zone) - I presume would have had an effect on team morale as a whole. And this really should have been in the appropriate thread.
