Nice pieris EFFT  We had one for years , but it keeled over ...we are going to replace it soon

I've got one in the front garden but it's smaller than Fluffy's.

If you can find it in the '365' thread (a few pages back) it used to be a lot taller, until the gardeners chopped it in half!

Did you know they were going to chop it?

No, came home from work one day and it was done. I think Mr fluffy just told them to 'tidy up the garden' and left them to it! It certainly was neat and tidy.

 Are the gardeners still employed?

You might need to make your instructions very specific from now on.

No, it's not an on-going thing. Was just a trial. They weren't that bad really, just a bit hap hazard in terms of when they turned up, how long they worked for and that they never seemed to have any forward planning!

Presented one's self at a cafÃĐ in the "heart of North Yorkshire" yesterday.

"Can I have an omelette please?"

"Of course - what would you like?"

"Oh a vegetarian one please - what do you have?"

And the lady said . . .

"Well we have potatoes, carrots and cabbage . . . "

"Can we try mushrooms, onions and tomatoes instead?" I said.

Leaking toilet. Not nice

Plumber said he'd come out immediately. Nice

Bloke wanted ÂĢ50 Not nice

I negotiated ÂĢ40. Nice

We already had a brand new cistern - and it fits. Nice

I then went to the shop. I won ÂĢ25 on the Lottery. Nice

And with that I bought a scratch card and won ÂĢ10 Nice

And now i'm eating cereal out of a pasta bowl with a soup spoon - exhausted !!

We have bats fly up and down our gardens

Silent, speedy and darting all over

Great to watch them in the evening

That must be lovely...

My friend had them in her roofspace once... Bat conversation people came out, and caught one - they were a rare species [ can't remember which ].  Bat-guy held one in his hands for me to see it up close, it had teeth like a cat   I was dying to pet its little head but didn't want to stress it any more.

The one in the video is a fruit bat b.t.w.... saw masses of them hanging in the trees when I was in Australia. It was a poopfest underneath them so I didn't go any closer

That is the basis of a Spanish omelette.

But I was in Richmond

The first time I came anywhere close to bats was many years ago and we stopped off at a country house B & B and when we went into the bedroom there were 3 or 4 bats circling the ceiling light!

However, recently we have had bats roosting in the loft space. It always made me duck instinctively as they swooped in towards the house.

Hard to remember exactly how it was, I basically do all my writing with my left hand now as I find right handed writing tedious and painstaking and requires a lot of effort. How I'd have got on if I hadn't been able to use my left hand, I don't know.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Realised later that this might be a bit ambiguous.

The reason for this ^^^^^ and the comparison left/right writing pictures is that I was right handed up to when I had the operation and effectively left handed ever since!
