he's pissing me off right now on l/f - Ben is NOT a politician - and Ben's supposed mate DAVE is again sticking the knife in Dont get me wrong, if I find something awry about Ben, I will say so at the min - after a shit day - Ben is now having to listen to a slightly pissed up Nathan (I'm trying to think of the name of the Windass' dad on Corrie)
Funny, I see it as Nathan and Dave giving Ben a valuable education about real life....one which he sorely needs by the sound of it

nathan is coming over much better than Ben is at the moment

I don't think that his use of colourful language is a reason to criticise him brisket. It may not be to your taste but I think it is endemic now. It shouldn't hold the same meaning as it may to many because it has been suitably diluted in impact over the years.

Nathan uses it as punctuation in his speech and I'm almost thankful to see that honesty inexpression in an HM.

I studied a term of Linguistics with David Crystal and he still embraces the evolution of language in whatever form it is. He approves of text speak too as the Next Generation!

He's certainly falling on his sword for his cause! Foul language isn't anything that bugs me that much... aggressive behaviour certainly does! I think Nathan is outspoken but intelligent enough to keep things acceptable.
Fair enough. I'm a football fan foul language phases me not. Body language is a different thing entirely and I just don't like the guy. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

I don't think he'll get much more life in the house Prom. Now he's found his 'voice' he'll be dead in the water. Wrong TV programme, wrong demographic! Interesting, however, how Ben's outrageous political viewpoints may be tolerated because of this 'humour' but Nathan's won't because he's too earthy and pithy with it!

I really like Ben but mainly because his insane politics highlight the fact he's actually a bumbling fool. My OH thinks he's mildly autistic and I think she might have a point

Nah! She's wrong. If that were the case he wouldn't have been able to do the stand-up routine.

He's just clever and lives off his wits. Or he's playing the dissident role that Shabby thought was hers, but he's doing it with a 'posh' twist!

Watch him though. There's a condition called Aspergers which has wildly varying degrees and Ben shows elements of that. Socially inept, perpetually insecure and uncertain of his place in the scheme of things at all times and ALWAYS needing support.

There's something not quite right with that boy Xoc.

No he's not.....never in a million years,  what makes her think that?
He's a social disaster and always uncomfortable and everything he says he puts his foot in it. He has no awareness, none. I don't think he's vaguely autistic but he definitely has a personality disorder. He goes through life as though he needs his mother or a surrogate one (Mario?) at all times. He is not right in the head.

Thanks... I will do Prom. I hadn't thought about it like that, and it does fit the bill well. But do his manipulative skills fit with that profile? ... or rather, does your OH think he does?
I don't think he's manipulative at all just very confused. He seems lost. That fits the Asperger's profile very well. He's painfully insecure and it breaks my heart sometimes that he has no idea at all how to fit in with people. It suits BB obviously. I hope they're enjoying it.

I think he's a social disaster because he is a fish out of water and has probably led a sheltered life compared to many in there.  i'm sure he's absolutely fine in his own kind of social group.

He definitely doesn't have Aspergers and I doubt if he has any personality disorder apart from being a daft twat.  But I agree that he probably likes to be looked after and adored, and i'm sure that's where his love of socialising with rich older women comes from...I bet they think he's adorable and treat him like he's their pet chiahuahua LOL

Strange how conversation, quite unintentionally can drift into other highways and byways.
Fascinating as the later posts were - and they were - the thread was primarily about Nathan.
But I say this pleasantly and mildly.      because I enjoyed the nature,  content and trend of these posts.

Perhaps he developed his fibbing and manipulation of others while he was away at boarding school. I wonder how old he was when he was sent away?

Nathan called Shabby a weirdo last night and while he might have a valid point i think his opinion was based upon a lack of understanding of her or effort in getting to know her.

Late last night on the LF Shabby positioned herself alone directly underneath a camera, and with what looked like beans wrote; T S Eliot. I'm not sure if this was a code, a message to home, or just the frustration of what she is missing most from her regular life. I'm not convinced that Nathan possesses the ability to make a statement that is both subtle and silent...
