I used to have fights with my sons, trying to get them to eat breakfast when they were teenagers.  Even now, they prefer brunch to breakfast.

We’re on the edge of the village and near farmland so we’ve always had the occasional frog. This one is a bit bigger than usual.

Crispy apple pies and a visit to Heinz's baked beans factory in Wigan. Talking of Heinz, in their current advert for mayonnaise, the bus in it is the number 57, the number associated with their famous slogan 57 varieties.

I think it's probably deliberate. Their previous advert was the one celebrating 150 years of Heinz (with Mike & Bernie Winter's "I Like It" as the song). So I think it's a nod to Heinz's history.

I had wondered how many people watching that advert would hear the man talking mention right at the beginning "As the number 57 bus crawls down the hill...." actually spot that

That Heinz mayonnaise advert is the first of three they are doing. The others are Tomato Soup and Beanz, one this month and one next month.

One will need to watch out for them to see if there's any reference to 57.

Bumping for tonight

Giant cookies and a visit to Tate & Lyle on the River Thames to find out how they produce their Golden Syrup.

Although this is the last episode of this series, Nadiya is back on BBC2 on this Bank Holiday Monday with a 1 hour special from 8 pm called Nadiya's Summer Feasts.
