My garden

Me, too! When we first moved to this house, there were four big planting beds, and I went kind of crazy (I even tried artichokes, which I love...but take up WAAAY too much space). Now I've pared back to the stuff I eat the most: lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, beets, strawberries, and a few potatoes for our Thanksgiving dinner.

There's nothing quite like strolling out to your garden to pick your lunch.

Same thing here! I wanted to take advantage of the climate here and try things I had never grown before. I agree, nothing like eating something you have grown, really makes you appreciate your ingredients!

Wow ... I am going to try that under some glass. Tell me what to do, and when to plant it ... I love a challenge!

We just planted the tops of pineapples after we had eaten them. If it’s under glass I don’t think it matters what time of year. We grew ours in large pots because we can control the drainage better than in the ground what with the tropical rain we get. Water every two to three days doesn’t like to be too wet just feel the soil and water if it’s dry. Fertilize every few weeks. It will take a couple of years to fruit, one per plant but when it fruits it will also spawn baby plants at the side which should fruit the following year if you replant them. I was so excited when we got a pineapple!
