dunno if you know but ive slept on sofa for a few months now cos mr wilfred wont/cant get upstairs

he barks until im downstairs, so i stay downstairs

i have to wash his blanket everyday because he wets himself

i get up at least 3 times in the night to let him out but he wee's on the floor anyway

i bought a carpet cleaner but the house smells of p!ss

ive just let him out, he's wet his blanket and sh!t on the floor, i was only upstairs for 2mins using the toilet

im taking him to vets, i was reluctant to do that cos when my minty went she never came home

am i a bastard to take him?

incase he dont come home

I think you should take him Pirate. He seems like he is in a very bad way. It will be kinder to him

You have my sympathy

maybe they can give him tablets or something?

could be as simple as that

It could be but I'm sad to say it does sound very serious and I know you wouldn't want him to suffer

Pirate I'm not saying this to hurt you but you're being selfish if you don't take him to the vet.... If he needs to see one then the only reason you're not taking him is to delay yourself any pain... The fact is he's not right and hasn't been for a long time now.... You never know it could be something simple but you'll never know until you take him... You obviously love him dearly so please help him xx

Pirate you know Jen, Velvet, Moonie and Yogi are right. Man up now, let the vet decide, we are all here for you. And we all feel nearly as sad as you do.  I've said before but I will repeat myself there is a dog stuck in rescue kennels somewhere who would be delighted to see you as their new owner and for you to give him/her the love that you've given Minty and Wilf. God bless.

I agree with everything that's been said here Pirate. It may well be time for him to leave you, and if it is it's the fair thing to do. Please don't let him suffer (if he is) You know that you've given him a good life and while no other dogs can take the place of Minty or Wilfy like Squiggle says there are other dogs out there crying out for your love and attention. That said it is a most awful decision. I don't envy you

we took him earlier, vet said he's old but is in good nick...i said 'dont be so hard on yourself pal' (ive made that up),mr wilfredo, he had blood test & urine sample anylised it cos they thought its kidney trouble but his kidneys are fine, he's got a mouth infection, but greyhounds usually get that, he's got arthritis and he's got a prostate infection, so we gotta give him anti biotics & some liquid stuff for his arthritis, we gotta take him back next week to see if prostate thing has cleared up if not, they are gonna test him to make sure its nothing worse

so fingers crossed eh?

ps as you mightve guessed, i was slightly 3 sheets to the wind when i started this post, cos i was worried

but you lot are always very kind & i appriciate it

thank you

little darling ie big b@stard kept me awake all night trying to do that prance thing dogs do, like when they go on the front paws then spin, he could only do 2 spins then had a rest & started again

ALL NIGHT

he's only wee'd once on floor since tuesday, that was cos i was upstairs in shower and he couldnt get out

its nice to see him being daft, he's a bit backward and dont understand much, thats why i love him

i just wish he's be daft in the daytime, i got black rings under my eyes

Awwwwww that's  super news about Mr Wilf, Pirate. So glad he appears to be getting back to his old self again. I hope that continues
