Pizza Express is in a financial mess

HOW?

Margherita 'classic' pizza (that's 11inches) = ÂĢ10.90

Some are ÂĢ16.00 - that is ludicrous !!

My friend worked in a pizza take away - she told me the mark up (profit) on all pizzas is massive

Basically they sell for much more than they cost to make.

So how can Pizza Express be in financial trouble?

The BBC business correspondent did a very good job of explaining some of the reasons why they have found themselves in a bit of a pickle. It would appear two of the reasons are rapid expansion and being a middle ground eatery. Something to do with the fact that people, if they are going to cut back tend not to go to the the middle tier restaurants, but chose the lower end, while the very upper end seems to be able to attract customers in enough number to stay afloat.

Pizza Express are trying to get people through the door with lunch and early evening deals - we shall see how that works for them. To be honest, I have always enjoyed a night out there with friends. Not something you can do at Pizza Hut

. . . and what does that mean!!!

Not that I've had a night out at Pizza Hut  -  often

Sainsbury banning sales of fire works

Lovely - go on - spoil our heritage/tradition/fun

. . . .and now Northumbria Police asking ALL retailers to stop sales to the public!!

Sanitized, killjoy culture

There are other retailers that sell fireworks

But there is a reason why they are taking this stance.

To be honest, I love a good firework display, but what I don't like is the local idiots letting them off for weeks before and after, late at night when I have to get up next morning.

I also wonder how people with dogs etc fair.

M&S Xmas advert

Perhaps the most ludicrous thing I've seen on telly

I think that's actually an advert for Waitrose down South. Seriously, "Paddy" McGuinness. What are they thinking? Repellent full stop. And ÂĢ12 for Panettone - pull the other one

Dancing  jumpers â€Ķ dreadful

So far this morning, I have managed to get up, go to HMV and buy some films, walk to Costa, eat a cheese and ham panini and almost complete the drinking of a cup of coffee without anything whatsoever annoying me.

It's only 10:34 so there is still time. 😀

Have you noticed how much Costa is charging you?

That should make you spit it out LOL

Orgasms.

No, not having one, but the new and really annoying advert from Durex. Flogging some product that is all about "winning" and orgasm.

What the hell is 'winning' and orgasm all about. Marketing gone mad. Feckin' mad advertising executives!

Glad it’s not just me EC ....I thought it was cos I am old that I didn’t understand the idea of winning an orgasm

LinkedIn this time

What a site, bunch of **** trying to tell everyone else how wonderfully talented and successful they are.

Anyhoo an old school friend's LinkedIn nonsense spouts this garbage ... here we go,

"Comfortable leading cross-functional/multicultural teams and managing large budgets.

Able to define overall strategy and also execute tactical programmes.

Flexibility to leverage broad experience and transfer skills into totally new situations."

And that's totally new ok - dunno if there's any other type of 'new'.

Celebrity based shows.

I'm getting pretty sick of the amount of television devoted to celebrity participation in one form or another. BUT, ITV have now sunk to a new desperate low. The Masked Singer.

ITV have not just reached the bottom of the barrel, they have turned it over and are frantically licking away at the putrefying, decaying morsels of Saturday night ratings.

Yes - it's ludicrous and desperate.

Naked Jungle - that was pretty bad and i stumbled across "Naked Attraction" - honestly it's terrible, you see everything - it should be banned.

Another one is Naked and Afraid - more voyeuristic nonsense.

I've not seen or heard of the Naked Jungle or Naked and Afraid. But I'm guessing none of the above have celebrities in them.
