By the way, there's a new series starting at 9 pm on BBC 2 on the 5th - "Rick Stein's Secret France"  a 6 part series where he takes a culinary tour starting in Dieppe.

Ooooo that sounds good too

If you want to know more on this series, this BBC article was published when the series was commissioned back in February:

and his book on the series is published next Thursday

Apparently the first skills test is poached guinea fowl with a sauce Robert ...whatever that is

That's Marcus's test (that's a brown mustard sauce).

Monica's is tagliatelle with a lamb ragu.

As in previous series 3 of tonight's 6 chefs go out.

Later in the series, the remaining chefs will be in a 2 episode challenge which is new

A link to a site showing photos of the 48 chefs with their first names. Also a group photo of the 6 in tonight's episode and a group photo of tomorrow's 6. Can't be sure that the site is correct though:

Keira wasn’t too keen on fireworks when she was very young (not terrified though) but as she got older she, and my son’s Labrador, would happily stand in the garden and watch the rockets going up.
