Tonight's episode is the first of 4 for Finals week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9 pm, Friday at 8.30 pm, all an hour long (the Friday one was originally scheduled at 30 minutes which had struck me as odd).

The first 15 minutes of tonight's clashes with the last part of Bake Off.

Tonight, the 5 remaining contestants are at the Royal Society in London They have the task of cooking a five-course tasting menu to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Transglobe expedition, the world’s first expedition to circumnavigate the globe via both the south and north poles. Hosting the event is Sir Ranulph Fiennes, explorer and mastermind of the expedition itself.

Back to the Masterchef kitchens to create a dish to show how they've developed over the competition. One of them goes.

I've never seen Sewing Bee

Amythist introduced Ros and I to it this year l.....and we’ve really enjoyed it It’s sort of like the Bake Off format ....two judges.....3 individual tasks ...then at the end there is a star garment and one person is * evicted*

Both Bake Off and Sewing Bee are produced by Love Productions so that's why the format is similar
