I thought it high time we had another housemate inspired thread, so I came up with a name which is befitting of my favoured housemate.

So you are all welcome to my thread, join me for a coffee, a Rich Tea biscuit and copious amounts of friendly chat.

No particular animals are banned from my thread  BUT there will be no talk of chestnuts; I find them lazy.

I suspect this thread will last almost as long as the current series of Big Brother before falling into thread oblivion.

Cue excuse for a picture of Laura.

I would be delighted to welcome you all to LLL or L3 as it will be known from now on. Especially as I have purchased 840 catering boxes of Rich Tea biscuits from the local cash and carry.

Yes, Baz, I have a beef with chestnuts.

No, Yogi, you don't have to like Laura, I'll do the liking for 10 men.

Roger, how many sugars do you normally take in your coffee, and welcome.

So , what do you want to chat about tonight EC ....how about a spoiler about tonight's show

Hi Baz

I'm quite happy for a spoiler because I will not be watching tonight, it's on too late and I have an early start tomorrow (5am).

So I will be getting ready for bed shortly.  Just watching Monty Don and some wonderful gardens.

I remember watching that way back in the day Mr B is watching Hotel Inspector

I've just checked the year (1953). Sid James looked relatively young despite him having quite a craggy face.

Was this film a forerunner to the Beeching Report?

It was well before Beeching

I wonder if Dr Beeching saw this film and the closure of the Titfield station and got inspiration?

It's all well before my time so I will need to Google.

I'm not likely to be around for her eviction tonight.

Awww Fear not , I will cheer for you .

Thanks Baz.

It's one of my busiest weekends of the year. I always flexi leave the Friday and Monday to bookend the weekend.

  • Event 1: At this time every year Sheffield hosts the now world famous Tramlines (link) music and culture festival. As well as some big name acts, there are also hundreds of fringe events, loads of music to listen to and most free. So I am out most of the weekend, day and night!

  • Event 2: Hungarian Formula One live on TV. I have to intersperse my music listening with watching qualifying on Saturday and the actual race on the Sunday.

  • Event 3: Nearly forgot. The new Star Trek film hits the cinema today and I plan to go see it in 4DX on Monday.

Busy, busy, busy.
