Our badly underfunded defence has no need for national service. There is not enough money or resources for the number of personnel serving currently, let alone introducing a conscription system.

There seems to be a bottomless pit of money when it comes to MP's expenses! Wink

Nod

ÂĢ88 million in suspect claims over the past 4 years, isn't it? Makes me wonder how many British troops would not have died in Afghanistan had that money been invested into better equipment and training.

Love it. Big Grin

I laughed so much Gel, I ended up having a coughing fit!

My husband wondered what on earth I was laughing at.

He did have a nice yellow van until about a year ago and the only new one he saw which fitted the bill, size wise, was a white one. I hate it.

Poor soul, he is forever being stopped by the police for a 'stop and search' - they are becoming quite good friends now as a result. Big Grin

Cheeky devils even addressed him by his first name yesterday!

No, haven't forgotten Deegs. You were very patient as it took ages before I cottoned on!!

Well, I'm using my lappy at the moment so I guess it should be the same. Just hold and depress the Ctrl & Alt keys whilst pressing the letter on which you require the accent.

That's what I do, Hy. But computer says "no" Eeker

I bought this lappy in New York, so it has an American keyboard, which I guess makes a difference - I can't even do English Pound signs or Euro signs on it Laugh

Can it not be converted Deegs?

I'm sure someone who is technically minded on the forum could come up with a solution. Why not make a thread?

I'm not that au-fait with computers. I only know how to use them but no good at anything technical. I always have to have someone come in to set up new appliances for me.
