I just been catching up on the news and noticed that Nicky Sturgeon has leapt with superman like speed at the opportunity to call for another referendum in Scotland. It would seem to be that they just want to keep trying until they get what they want (see my England v Germany analogy).

There should be a time limit on it, say 5 years before another can be called or it just gets ridiculous.

To be fair, this was actually in the SNP manifesto for the recent Scottish Parliament election, so it's hardly a surprise. A second referendum would be considered if there was majority support in Scotland for it, and remaining in the EU against a Brexit was always listed as one of the situations that might swing it.

(Mind you, I was a bit surprised at how little it was mentioned during the referendum (at least South of the border), as you'd think the risk of the UK splitting would be a consideration for many voters throughout the UK. Similarly, the fact that Spain threatened during the campaign that they'd demand joint sovereignty of Gibraltar in the event of a Brexit was barely mentioned...)

I think it's valid to question Sturgeon's reverse ferret from her comments during the Independence referendum, but she didn't just come up with the notion of "IndyRef2" following Brexit - the groundwork had already been laid...
