Why shouldn't we panic when we have Cummings (with CovID symptoms), sick wife and child travelling over 250 miles during lockdown and Downing Street trying to convince us it was ESSENTIAL travel because he needed childcare? Isn't that one of the issues that the government is supposed to have got contingency plans for?

We can all come up with reasons to break the rules ... then get our friends to cover for us

Utter corruption

You could not write this stuff could you!

Cummings is the devil in human form, I hate the little weasel. To think we have this turd whispering in Johnson's ear, a key advisor.

No doubt in my mind he has to resign or be sacked. Just like the other high profile individuals who have been caught and resigned.

The "childcare" argument's a complete red herring. As an MP with a disabled child (and who's therefore had to consider that possible scenario himself) has just pointed out on theC4 news, anyone reasonably well off and living in London isn't going to be short of alternative solutions.

Besides; one of the side issues of this story that's been largely ignored so far is that Cummings and his wife (both infected) took their children (possibly also infected) across country to stay with their elderly grandparents (presumably not infected).

That's been an absolute no-no since the beginning.

Let's be honest: is there anyone out there who's remotely surprised to hear that Dominic Cummings broke the rules that he and his employers wrote and expect everyone-else to adhere to, and then deny he's done anything wrong?

Elon Musk; Uber; Cummings: a common trait amongst such self-styled "Disruptors" is that they think they have the right - the duty, even - to ignore the same laws that they demand everyone-else abide by.

Just read the latest...….he and this Tory government make me sick! Not Tories in general per sé - just this current bunch.

Oh I dunno, Tories going a fair way back make me sick! Not one of them got anything going for them. What have they ever done to make this country a better place?

In happier news:

74-year-old Michael Rosen - former Children's Laureate and author of "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" is finally out of intensive care after 47 days.

I was delighted to hear this news earlier Eugine, I follow him on twitter and the less his wife posted updates the more worrying it became. I hope he's soon back to something near normal

The Cummings affair...Lies and more damn lies, from MP's, Cummings and his wife. They have changed government guidelines to save one mans job, I would love to know what he has on Johnson and some of the current cabinet, he's mainly hated by all sides and still, he won't resign.

Johnson knew he had broken the lockdown and knew where he was...He traveled 250 miles with his wife and child, both had Covid-19 symptoms. The child never needed the loo or they never stopped for petrol? He then took his 5-year-old child into his parent's home knowing he could be a carrier...

His wife wrote in the Spectator, she fell ill on the 27thth of March (I think) and Cummings went straight home, falling ill himself on the next day. She said he went to bed for ten days he was so ill, he couldn't breath and was having spasms...(her account)

We now know, he was so ill, he drove 250 miles, was seen in his parent's garden on more that one occasion on different days, of the 5th of April in the garden with his son listening to Dancing Queen  It appears it was also his mums birthday...

Chin up folks, we've Brexit next and fruit picking

yes on 19th of April he went up again and was seen with his wife and son In Barnard Castle walking around, 30 miles from his mum's home....corrupt to the core.

I know I shouldn't panic, but, I can feel myself getting REALLY FED UP with the World as it is at the moment because of this Virus.

I am trying to amuse myself and my husband, and family that I can't see, but I have to admit.........it is getting on my last WICK.....(and I need to know who can provide me with a stock of NEW WICKS)

Brilliant tweet by someone

Do we all get access to Dom’s mobile phone data to plot out where he’s been & trace all his contacts? Seeing as he wants ours, it would seem only fair.

Johnson, explaining the rules around grandchildren...although they seem to have changed from this morning

I was a little confused today, because when the story broke last night it clearly referred to them visiting the grandparents,  A woman on the BBC News "The Papers" review show was the only person I've heard so far (on TV, that is) who actually brought up the question of how wise it was for a child to visit elderly relatives.

However the Downing St briefing today said they were visiting Dominic's sister and niece...

Durham police have now confirmed that Dominic's family were indeed living on his father's property (though seem to imply not the same household). This incidentally exposes another Downing St lie, as the press brief also claimed that the police had not spoken to the family about the incident, as had been reported.

In fact, the police turned up at the request of the grandfather. It sounds like he was concerned about security...

It gets more ludicrous by the minute.  Yes, I know there have to be exceptional measures for exceptional circumstances, but really...….nothing, absolutely nothin, could be done for them in London? ……… and that's WITHOUT taking these other suspected occasions into account!

As I said further up, anyone with a fraction of Cummings' money and contacts would have numerous alternative options. However I've just read that Dominic's brother-in-law lives in London SW2...

As I said in another previous post, it's the arrogance and assumed privilege of these self-styled "disruptors" that I find particularly sickening...

Yeah - the brother of Mary Wakefield lives in London and DC's own PA lives even closer - 2 streets away.

Government batting off the latest allegations...

someone is going to be sacked  The tweet is now deleted

Thanks for posting that Dame - couldn't do so myself.

The tweet's just been featured on the BBC News channel. Going to be interesting to see Johnson try to justify sacking a Civil Servant for that, while Cummings remains in his job...

What I learnt from the Andrew Marr Show today.

Grant Schnapps is a self confessed "expert" in transport. This seems to be a convenient way of not having to answer questions relating to Cummings activities.

Schnapps does answer questions relating to Cummings when he feels it fits with his morning briefing on the affair.

Schnapps really does need a haircut.

Schnapps/the party seem to be wanting to twist the lockdown rules to fit in with Cummings activities.

Cummings reason for going North seem to be very weak when you think that London is possibly the best city to be in if you need medical or any other form of help.

There is another question that needs answering. Did Cummings stop on his lengthy journey north for a toilet break or any other form of break and in doing so did he and his travel companions expose anyone else to C-19?

As an addition to this ^

They can clear Cummings activities quite easily using two methods (assuming the evidence is there).

  1. The country has lots of ANPR cameras, interrogate the data to track where Cummings vehicle has visited.
  2. Seize Cummings and his wife's mobile phones, examine them for GPS data and also match this up the network using cell siting.

If he has nothing to hide and wants it all to go away, then submit to this.

Exactly EC ....not that he will Given the way Boris is supporting him I’d say he ....Cummings ....obviously know where the bodies are buried !

Sky News is reporting it was a vehicle associated with Cummings in Barnard Castle on a later date after he was back at work...dunno how they are going to spin this

I'm guessing a Land Rover Discovery may need "feeding" at some point during a lengthy drive.
