If you want to split a quoted reply in your posting:

  1. Click where you want to split the quoted text.
    • Press Enter once
    • Press Left Arrow once (try using space on an Android phone instead)
    • Press Enter three times.

This will split the quote and leave space for you to type something inside the split.

Although the tip says three times I only needed to press Enter twice for this quoted reply to split.

This will split the quote and leave space for you to type something inside the split.

Tried Jen's space, but no luck!

Changed onto Chrome and it works. Like El Loro I only needed two presses of Enter at the last stage to get the split.

Most strange....I have just changed my BBC password and I'm now getting it working with IE11. Other things that weren't working are now working again too!!!!

Haven't tried my android tablet, but I would expect that to work as it updates the OS automatically and uses Chrome.

I'm glad you've been able to get it working though why changing your BBC password sorted it out is strange.

Update on this:-

It wasn't long before it all went pear shaped again!

After a bit of ferreting around I came across an article that explained it all.

The BBC (in their wisdom) have expanded their site and to get the full functionality you have to allow 'third party' cookies.

I changed my settings to allow this and everything started working as it used to do. However' as I am not interested enough in most of their functions I have returned my settings to what they were and disabled 'third party cookies again.

I can live without access to HYS and the site keeping track of the next episode of things I've been watching or making recommendations based on my viewing preferences!

More ferreting around and I have found the controls that allow me to restrict 'third party cookies' to those associated with the BBC site and keep every Tom,Dick and Harry out!

Yes, I found out a few days ago about that. I think I'm right in that you need to switch off the personalisation to do that via:
https://account.bbc.com/account/settings/privacy
One needs to log in to be able to access that.

You may want to keep an eye on those settings...

I turned off personalisation,  plus all the cookies they allow me to, a couple of weeks ago. However I just took a look at my settings after reading this thread, and they'd all been turned back on...

BBC changed its privacy and cookies policy 4 days ago - I had an email from them about this which is when I changed my settings.
