Evening All.

Cool again today at 13c with light rain this afternoon and a moderate breeze.

Had the bacon on the bbq for brekkie, for tea marinaded 2 Kingfish steaks and a baked spud.

Didn't do much, the wood didn't arrive as expected, emailed them as can't get through on the phone.

Left the watering off again, expecting rain in the morning.

Have put a few lights over the tree seedlings.

Got my shopping, tons of fruit, shrimps and 3kg of bread flour, making a 1kg tub of Yogurt overnight.

Just had strawberries and ice cream.

Keep warm and safe, sleep tight,

I sleep in longer stints when it's cooler, mind you with the quilt i have to sleep naked or i overheat.

hope the anitbiotics have started to work now and so you feel a bit better.

Glad I managed to find the Sewing Bee forum last night.   Another good show this week.

Hicky

Shame the wood didn't show up, hope it does soon.

Well done to your OH stocking up on the shopping for you both. Is she stil managing to get in there early when it is quiet.

OH made some chicken steaks, little potatoes and broccoli on the BBQ for tea tonight.

I too had strawberries and cream tonight for afters.

Have you seen this site? Quite good for recipes and hints if you like potatoes.

https://www.lovepotatoes.co.uk...make-roast-potatoes/

A lot cooler today but I did manage a read on the swinghchair and doggie enjoyed us taking her a walk.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

Yes, o/h can get in early with being an employee shielding me, she goes at 07.15am.

Sent an email to the wood company asking what was going on.

The BBQ is doing you good for meals, i was talking to a neighbour, he said his next one will be gas and solid fuel, he thinks both is best, a good idea, haven't seen that though, will take a look.

I'll take a look at the link for the potatoes.

It was chilly here, no swing for me today, wet Friday/Saturday as well.

If it's too wet i'll make a loaf with my new loaf tin.

Sleep tight, stay safe.

Hicky

Evening All.

Spend most of the day in the kitchen with these storms back, 13c rain showers, gales.

Had sausages on toast for brekkie.

Been making a loaf to try the new loaf tin.

Then used the new blender to make apple and raspberry smoothies.

Not seen much tv.

The baby trees look ok, i put the LED lamps on over them to see if they will grow better.

Going to test the new loaf with a pack of shrimps.

Have a good evening, stay safe and keep warm, enjoy the weekend.

Hicky

Baz

hope you are feeling better now.

Hicky

that's ideal your OH can get into the supermarket and its one she knows well.

Yes the big BBQ is great for family main meals on hot days.

A mix of gas/coal BBQ sounds ideal because its only worth us doing a main meal on ours, whereas yours is great for a quick brekkie as well. I bet those type of BBQ's are expensive.

Have you got a new shaped loaf tin now? Bet you enjoyed your bread with shrimps. And your smoothie sounds yummy too.

Son made us yorkshire puds, which we all enjoy, I had the veg and the family had chicken as well.

I was reading today, they are going to be sending us those cllorinated chickens from the states after brexit, even though they said they wouldn't originally. Doesn't affect me as I don't eat meat, but I will avoid it for the family.

I can see the little trees will get a good start with you and the lamps. Be interesting to see how they come on.

I see another horrific 357 dead from this awful disease again today, and R number increasing. Not good.

You are right to be shielding HIcky. I too only go out for a short walk.

Watching Vera now.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Forgot to say, had a vid call wit Oz this Morning, we may need to change the holiday destination, the resorts weather isn't matching our holiday period as it's looking like maybe May/June time.

Wow, the bread is so light/soft, the new tin has 4" deep sides, been looking so long for one, and with Irish butter and brown shrimps it was delicious.

Yes, you would be able to use the bbq for breakfast as well, i will look into what is available.

I can see me making lot of smoothies, i might be able to make smoothie ice lollys if i can find a kit to make them, the smoothie made 2 beakers full, have put one in the fridge, i did put some ice in to make it.

I don't really like chicken anyway but can't see what the problems would be, most of the country drinks clorinated water don't they, surely if it's good enough for the US what is the problem here.

I saw one of my neighbours granddaughter yesterday, she said the baby Fig trees i gave her a couple of years ago are doing fine.

Going to grow some grape vines this winter from the growth on the Autumn Royal in the greenhouse.

I think all these protests are going to make a rise in infections, thats p to them.

I haven't been out of the premises for so long.

My serated fruit peeler came today, it worked great on the apples.

These figures of people dying in a 24 hr period have probably had the virus for many weeks, so those that get the virus today don't go in the figures if they die for ages.

But if people aren't following the rules then they may end up in hospital.

Sleep tight, have a good weekend.

Afternoon Meanies  How is everyone today ? It’s rained on and off all day here ....and was really windy earlier ...but it’s settled down a bit now . I’ve not really done a lot today ....just a couple of loads of washing and a bit of tidying up . Now I’m lounging on the sofa ,...binge  watching Cardinal series 1 ...before starting on the current series

Mollie , can’t say I’m looking forward to chlorinated chicken either ....although I rarely eat it these days .....I basically stopped eating poultry after the salmonella scare a few years ago . What did you think of Gogglebox last night .....it wason several different levels Hicky , that bread looks yummy I think the protests are going to bump up the rate of infections too And while I understand the reason people feel the need to protest I think they are incredibly stupid , especially given the fact that it seems that covid appears to hit ethnic groups harder

Anyway , I hope you both have a good evening . Take care

PS Did you see that BB the Best of is starting on e4 on 14th June ?

Baz

Evening Baz.

16c today with rain that never came and a fresh breeze that did come.

Had some of the bread again this morning, had ham salad sandwiches, been looking up ways to make the home bread last longer so that is underway now.

Didn't do a lot today, messed in the garden and the greenhouse and summer house.

Had prawn with chili curry over a rice cake, so yummy.

watched the US version of the masked singer that started at 4.35 on ITV, it was very good, on for 2 hours.

Doing 2 loads of washing is doing a lot in my book, can't you spread the jobs out and have more your time.

In the US they have always had chickens that had been washed in Chlorine baths to kill any fears of Bacteria like Salmonella.

If it's good enough for them it wouldn't bother me.

Yes, i think all these people gathering is going to cost a lot of lives, and probably not the lives of those on the march, the ones at home they pass the virus to.

stay safe, stay happy, this nightmare will end one day, hope so i want to go on holiday again.

Have made a note of the BB date.

yes Gogglebox was a bit   ....  think the Celeb is never as good as the real one.

Good idea to just lounge on the sofa after you had done those house jobs.

Yes those protests are going to cause a lot more infections, and it is bad enough as it is!

I had read a Best of BB was back, but didn't realise when, so thanks for the info.   Finding there are too many tv repeats lately.

Hicky

that bread looks so yummy. No wonder you enjoyed it with Irish butter and shrimps. Did your OH have some too?

Glad to hear you are pleased with your smoothies.

We bought a juicer years ago, but it doesn't make smoothies. It does make delicious orange juice to go with our cooked brekkie each Sunday though.

That's nice to speak to Oz again, especially when discussing a holiday.

Yes hope this nightmare disease dies off soon, I want to go visit my elderly aunts, go out for meals, go the theatre, have chips on seafront, etc, etc, but mainly want me and the famiy to keep healthy. So I try not to think about what I miss too much and just keep occupied.

Son made chicken curry for family and I had lentil curry, had some Jersey potatoes, chick peas and rice with it. Followed by strawberries and cream.

Started to take doggie a walk and as it was drizzly, we came back. She didn't want to go out again (hates the cold/damp now her arthritis is bad), but I went with the boys and OH a walk to postbox.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I asked o/h if she wanted to try the bread, don't think she has yet, she is on her own diet regime so no idea what she eats, not sure if she had some with chicken on as i know she cooked chicken today.

It really is good, have ordered some Lecithin which can help to preserve it a bit, and the info says that the oil makes the bread softer as well, so i use that instead of butter.

this is the bread recipe, of course you can alter the flour by putting wholemeal etc within the 500g total, or double up for 2 2LB loaves: https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/rec...ywoods_bloomer_84636

Yes, i also try not to think of the things i miss by going out, not many things really with me not driving anymore.

The dentist rang and cancelled my June 18th appointment which they made when they cancelled the March 2nd one as i needed a filling.

I had the chili curry then strawberries and ice cream, then had 2 rounds of bread with Irish butter and a pack of brown shrimps, wow, heaven.

The cold might effect the dog, is that why she doesn't want to go out.

Keep safe and stay smiling and sleep tight.

Just watching Ben Fogle on recording, new lives in the wild.

The watering system has been turned off for a few days, now it's drying up i will check the moisture level.

Hicky

Evening All.

Not too bad today, 16c with sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.

Didn't do much really, had some of my bread toasted with grated cheese and sliced tomato for brekkie.

For tea decided to cook a small piece of beef with spuds carrots onions and cauliflower.

My lolly maker came, will blitz some fruit soon and make smoothies if i can.

The grape clusters in the greenhouse are mostly about 1 foot long (30cm) with some grapes being about 5-6mm.

Apples on the trees are about 1" (2.5cm) and are coming on well.

Have got BT coming Wednesday to install the Fibre into the house, i received the new BT Router a week ago.

Going to ring the company that provided the Slabs for the garden and see if i can get a few more as they are liabler to break, 1 has all ready, and i think i need abiut 4 more, problem is i don't think we can pick them up yet so might haver to get them delivered.

Just watching abandoned engineering, love this program.

Hicky

Baz

hope you are well today and havne't been overdoing it.

What did you watch tonight? I am watching Antiques Roadshow, then a programme about a true mystery in Austalia on C4 at 9pm.

Hicky

thank you for the bread recipe. OH made a wholemeal loaf today in the breadmaker, delicous it was. I will pass your recipe on to him.

I am not surprised you got a dentist cancellation phone call, my family have been getting those too. HOpe it does not give you a problem.

Not too bad here either today, so got a read on the swingchair.

yum cheese and tomato on toast for brekkie, that is my friends fave when she comes for a vist. (not that I've been able to see her for months though because of lockdown).

Hope your lollys come out well. What flavour you going for?

sounds like you are due a good crop of grapes and applies.

Remember to keep away from the BT engineer if he has to come indoors, hopefully they will of been told to wear a mask and gloves to go into people's home.

We too have just got a new router, it is the new Sky one though. OH hasn't set it up yet though.

HOpe you can sort your slab delivery out.

Doggie got her walk today as it was nice and sunny, but not too hot thanks to a cool breeze.

Had mini quiche and veg in cheese saue (son made the sauce for it) for tea.

Tv time.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, hope Baz hasn't fallen again, she is usually here by now.

I am just hoping that the tooth that was to be worked on holds out, i think i have 2 with a hole in although he was only going to work on one that had a hole after my last visit which was 6 months before March, why on earth they can't get the right PPE i have no idea, people are pulling their own teeth out.

If nurses can treat hundreds with the virus sure the dentists can get the right gear to carry on working, they would have probably seen me if i only wanted a check up or clean.

I made a type of smoothie mixture from Kiwi, Mango, banana and pineapple, with orange juice to bulk up, poured that into 8 lolly containers and put the rest into a drink beaker with drinking lid, now in the freezer, no idea if they will freeze.

The problem with the new fibre stuff is, i will probably have to move my desk, and it's big as it has the tv on as well as the 24" display for the computer and the computer as well.

At least doggie got a walk, good for you as well.

Son cooking for you again, you are getting to enjoy all this aren't you?

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Baz, hope you are ok, you haven't posted for a couple of days.

15c today, light cloud and a gentle breeze.

Had some of my bread for toast this morning with 3 eggs on, nice.

For tea decided to make a chili curry the same as the jar i had the other day, i have all the ingredients, about 17 in all, the seeds etc got ground in my new grinder, the rest went into the blender, that was tinned toms, onions etc, it made about 1L so cooked a portion of mince, it was pork and lamb then made a rice cake, in heaven.

Just check the water levels in the hydroponic containers, order another 5 charcoal slabs 45cm square they will deliver within 2 days.

The 8 lollys are ok, not sweet enough, might melt them down and make a smoothie drink, still had to try, will do better next time.

Have a good night, sleep tight.

Hicky

Hicky

yes hope Baz is well as we haven't seen her for a couple of days. Hopefully she is just busy watching her fave tv shows.

Hope your tooth does hang on in there, daughter has lost a filling too, so hope hers is ok. Nothing we can do really except keep teeth really clean at home. Dont' think the dentist would of seen you even for a clean, as my son's hygienist rang him a couple of months ago and said no more teeth cleaning appointments until further notice.

Shame your lollies weren't sweet enough, wonder if they would be better with honey added? Or cream to make them like fruity ice cream?

Did you manage to move your desk? Take care if you haven't yet, as it is easy to pull something moving heavy stuff.

I bet your curry was very tasty with 17 ingredients!

Nice day here today, so sat on swingchair and took doggie a walk to postbox, son was posting old printer cartridge to re-cycle them. OH made a BBQ, family had sausages, garlic chicken, and we had mini potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccili, mini carrots.

Tv time, not sure what to watch. Think I'll have a vanilla yogurt.

Goodnight Hicky xx

hope Baz is ok.

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, still no Baz, hope she hasn't fallen again.

The teeth need looking out, i would have thought they could get the right stuff to do the job.

I din't think of adding sugar to the smoothie mix, i assumed the fruit would be sweet enough, wrong.

I have taken all the 8 lollys out, ate one and put 7 in a zip bag in freezer, will make another set tomorrow as i have lots of fruit to use up, one error i made was to leave the center in the pineapple slices when i put them in the blender, they have to be cored like apples.

I will be moving the desk Tuesday night ready for the 10th, i also have 3 sets of freestanding draws that have t be moved as well in order to move the desk, i'll have to power the BT box down and the puter as i might pull wires out when moving things.

The curry was very tasty, and there was enough of the curry to make 2 portions for freezing, the 250g mince was in the portion i had for tea so the other portions can be used with any meat or fish etc.

I was looking at dual fuel BBQ's this one is nice and not too expensive. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/2066004

Nice having another BBQ again, love the food from them, i fancy this dual fuel one really.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope everyone is having a good day . Sorry to have worried you .....I thought I had posted in here yesterday It’s my wedding anniversary in a couple of days , so my heads been a bit all over the place . But I’m still in the land of the living .....and on both legs  I slept quite well last night , so  I’ve been more productive than I have the last two days Kitchen cleaned ...tick....bathroom cleaned ...tick ...hoovering done ...tick ....washing done ...tick ...and , as the gardener has been and mowed the lawns , I went out afterwards and did some pruning  He is coming back next week to do some of the heavy weeding .....I still can’t get down for that cos of my ankle .....and he’s also going to get some bedding plants for the front beds ....so I’ll finally have some more colour out there So, all in all , one of the better days

Mollie , your bbq sounds lovely .....a bit of normality amongst all the chaos  It’s not been nice enough for outside eating here  Don't forget it’s Sewing Bee tomorrow Hicky , hope your tooth is ok . I was watching something about the dentists opening yesterday , but I think it will be months before they take anything but emergency cases . One guy was saying that , because of the need shielding customers , and themselves , the most they could see would be about one patient an hour I think some of the practices may even go out of business

Anyway , once again I’m really sorry to have worried you both . Have a good evening ....Bake Off for me  Take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you are ok, glad you haven't had an accident, yes, anniversary's will be trying for you, always will be.

Yes let the gardener do stuff for you, you ankle needs no strain at all, the bedding plants will soon look good and add colour for you.

I have no idea when i will be able to get the dentist to sort my tooth out, surely they can get some PPE to fill teeth, this is madness, how can they survive, i have even paid for the work to be done.

I scrapped the smoothies, melted back down and added more fruit and some sugar then refilled the 6 lolly cases, even had enough for a beaker of smoothie.

Got the BT engineer tomorrow to fit the fibre broadband, we already have high speed at about 80 Mbs, they say they might be able to do it without coming in the house, no idea how, with solid outer walls.

The extra 5 45cm Riven charcoal flags came this morning, so thats sorted.

No word from the wood company, no email or phone call nothing only one from head office.

Oh well, enough of my problems, stay safe and alert and sleep tight.

good to see you back and all fit and well too.   Aaaww a sad time for you with it being Anniversary time.

Glad you got the gardener in as it sounds like you have been quite busy enough without gardening stuff to do too.

Yes I will try and get organised for the Sewing Bee thread tomorrow, I do enjoy the thread and the show.

I too heard dental practices will struggle to exist soon. They are still not open here, apparently no fillings at all, only emergency extractions for extreme pain accompanied by swelling eg at a dental hospital.

Such bad timing HIcky for you and your tooth. I saw on tv they said some are so desperate they have been trying to do home dentistry, to try and extract a tooth!

That BBQ in the link looks a great idea, and as you say, not too expensive. I bet you really are tempted to get one now!

Hope you managed to move the desk ok tonight and your fibre installation goes well. We have fibre and the new router but can get no more than 30gb because of location from phone box line.

That's good your flags have arrived. HOpe you hear from the wood company soon

Thanks for that nice BB photo, looking forward to this show.

Nice warm sunny day here today but not too hot and stuffy. Got washing dry, sat on swingchair, took doggie a little walk.

Son made a giant mac cheese for the 5 of us. Delcious and we had some of OH's homemade loaf with it.

Watching the professional bakers now, makes me want cake though.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I hope my tooth lasts without giving pain, thats all i need.

I fancy that BBQ, if we werent in lockdown conditions i would consider it, but with work going on now i can't afford it.

O/H doesn't think the BT people will need to move the desk, there is a side wall under the window that they could use, the outside wiring was buried in the wall render we had installed so you can't see any cable, the wire through the wall is glass fibre which plugs into the Openreach Modem, then a red ended Cat5 E cable goes from that into the BT HUB 6 smart hub.

I have just prepared some fruit for my morning smoothie, 2 cups of fruit chopped and in the freezer, apple, raspberries, blueberries, will add apple juice and a banana and yogurt to the blender tomorrow.

The standard smoothie is 1 cup fruit juice, half cup yogurt, 2 cups frozen fruit & 1 small banana (optional) put all into blender and blitz.

Did you see the BB page just under the picture, it explains a bit more than a picture.

It would be a giant mac and cheese for 5 of you, i've got loads of cheese, will have to look what mac i have in stock.

Hope your o/h's bread was ok, i should be making a new loaf around Thursday if i have time.

Got the builders in doing the paving Thursday/Friday, all being well, but rain forecast.

Take care, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

A miserable day reall all round, 15c with light rian showers and a gentle breeze.

Just had my last crust from the loaf with cheese and tomato and toasted.

Had the BT people here today sorting the Fibre broadband, 4 big vans in the road at one time.

The old broadband went off of course then the engineer said your phone line isn't working when they tested it outside, they were here 2 hours, am amazed at the loose delicate fibre that is coiled up by the wall, i said doesn't that go in a box, no, just don't knock it as it will break as it's glass inside, 2020 and we leave a glass fibre coil by the wall 1ft up from the floor.

For tea cut up a small oice of meat and had a portion of the hot chili curry, fried some rice and had that, nice.

Never did any jobs outside as it was too miserable.

No word about the wood, i was going to make a loaf tomorrow but with the fellers supposed to be starting the back garden flagging job i might be otherwise engaged.

Stay safe, sleep tight, hope Baz is having a good day.

Hicky

both

Baz

hope you are well and having a good day.

Hicky

weather dull all day and starting raining quite heavy now.

Hope the weather is ok for the work to be done tomorrow in your garden.

That sounded like a big BT job for you. Do they install for free if you take that contract with them for faster fibre? Sounds a bit odd how they don't box this new fibre stuff , meaning you have to take care you don't knock it.

Your smoothie certainly has a good variety of fruit.

I hadn't noticed the link under the BB picture, so will go and read it now.

No sunbathing on swingchair today as weather not so good. Tried to take a walk, but didn't go far as it started to rain and she hates the rain as much as we do!

I made a bit of pizza from a wholemeal pitta bread and had it with veg for tea.

Ran out of strawberries for tea time, never mind I have Morrisons coming tomorrow.

Nearly time for Sewing Bee.

Have a good evening both xxxx

M

Saw this article, never realised it was this bad...and no democtatic consultation either.

https://www.theguardian.com/co...-chlorinated-chicken

When this starts, it will be local farm food.farmers markets only for us. (especially as they intend to ban labels telling us where the food comes from).

Lucky you have a good farm shop Hicky, as I remember you said your OH didn't like Lidl, as she wasnt' sure where the food was from. I used to shop at Lidl but don't now as they don't do food delivery.

M

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope everyone is having a good day . It’s been wet , and very blustery here ....although there have been some sunny periods ...so I managed to get out and feed the birds  I slept better last night, but it’s my anniversary today , so I’m feeling a bit down I managed to get the washing done .....but not much else Hope your day is more productive than mine

Mollie , hope you enjoyed Sewing last night ....I did I’m going to miss it when I’m finishes in two weeks  Will you be watching BB ? Have you managed to get out in your swing chair today ? I agree about chlorinated chicken ....although I don’t really eat it nowadays anyway . Hicky , hope your fibre is up and running well now . Hows the tooth doing ?

Anyway , I hope you both have a good evening ....not much on the TV tonight ! Take care both and stay safe

Baz

Evening Mollie & Baz.

A miserable day here with rain showers and 17c with a moderate breeze.

That Guardian link is just fantasy by thee anti Conservative paper they are, they just print anything to get readers, and at the end ask for donations to keep their journalists in work, non of what they say is true they just scare monger to get readers, smae as some other papers, they don't car if its true or not they know noone can do anything about it, it's probably be paid for by a Labour supporter, papers don't care who pays the bill.

The workers arrived, worked through all the rain untill it stopped, they have laid all the slabs but 6, 2 are broken and will be replaced and they finished the ton of sand so just need another 6 poly bags which is 150kg, i am going to try and get the money back for the wood as the builder brought enough to do the job with him, it's looking good, the Grano can go down tomorrow, the turf comes Monday.

Just had scrambled egg on toast with fried Chorizo, for tea i made sausage rolls, the pack of sausage meat with a pack of puff pastry makes 4 rather big rolls, very simple and quick, widened the meat a bit and cut into 4 lengthwise, cut the pasty into 4 quarters, the sausage meat then fits neat into the widest side, paint milk over the pasty then wrap the pastry round and roll it up, easy peasy, they need about 25 minutes at 200c.

The problem with the fibre connection is you cand fold o bend the cable as the center glass tube will break, i used to connect fibre glass cable in Halewood for the high speed communications between the control panels in the factory, but making the ends of awful, it takes half an hour each and you don't know if it will work till you finish, you can't even touch the glass of course and it's minute like a hair, i would have thought they could fit a box big enough to coil the wire around inside.

I will leave my bread making till these jobs are done, too hard to concentrate and keep an eye on them.

Yes Baz, A bad day for you, anniversaries always a problem.

Fibre all sorted, 147 Mb/s which is double what i had, i just hope the tooth holds out, no idea why they can't get enough PPE to work on teeth, after all this time, what is going on.

Both keep safe, sleep tight .

It's clap at the door time again.

Aaaww sorry you are feeling a bit down on your anniversary day. Not an easy day for you. xxx

We too have been feeding the birds, We realise the magpies are the top dogs in the bird world. Today one shooed off 6 crows. We had a lot of house sparrows too, with a few young birds, with the mother feeding the younger smaller ones. So cute. We also get some pigeons and lovely ring necked wood pigeons.

I really did enjoy the sewing last night, yes such a shame it finishes soon. I enjoy the chats on the forum whilst we watch it too.

I did get out on the swing chair but not for long as it was quite cool and breezy. The doggie did get her walk though.

Yes not much on tv tonight, but am giving "You  are What You Wear" with Rylan (BB) on BBC1.

Hicky

did the flagging get done ok today? Hopefully the weather stayed ok for it to get done.

I had Costco quiche with veg for tea today, and some of son's cheese sauce I had saved from the other night.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

We posted together again last night.

It was 18c today, it said light rain showers but it didn't rain, for tea used up some old frozen cooked chicken from yonks ago, had the last portion of the chili curry and did a rice cake.

The gardener and his mate who does the flagging came, they finished the job, it looks good.

Heard from the wood company, they said they will reimburse me.

My new yeast packs came, 16 x 7g McDougalls, with a recipe on the packet, strange thing is after the knead section, the dough either goes into the loaf tin or onto a tray to rise, then it goes straight into the oven.

Going to try that tomorrow.

Mrs H goes back to work Tuesday.

Just had a text saying the turf etc is coming Monday morning.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you are both enjoying your Saturday . After a couple of lazy days I’ve been quite productive today  I slept quite well last night , so I’ve washed , cleaned and hoovered ....sorted out a birthday present and card ...fed the birds and , as weather isn’t too bad , I’ve pruned and dead headed the roses Hope you are all having an equally busy day

Mollie , I’ve got lots of sparrows too ....along with two pigeons , two collared doves , a couple of magpies, and a very friendly robin  Did you enjoy Gogglebox last night ? The last bit was ...I don’t think I could have watched that with my mum, like Emilia  We have a thread by the way , although recently we’ve had to watch it at 10 o’clock (on plus 1) cos of programme clashes Hicky , how is your tooth ? Are you looking forward to BB starting tomorrow ?How do you feel about Mrs H going back to work again ?

Anyway, hope you both have a good evening ....I’ll miss my Portillo travel programmes tonight .....but , whatever you are doing  , take care

Evening Baz.

Not bad here today with 22c and sunny intervals with a gentle breeze.

Had a vid call from Oz this morning which was lovely, he's working at home on this $330m Ozy dollar estimate, and he's in charge, he's been working through the night till 5am every day.

Had sausages on the BBQ for brekkie on toast.

Made a loaf this morning, used the strange McDougalls recipe, wow, it worked, no idea how but its a good loaf.

It took 5 minutes to knead using the machine, then 1 hour to rise then 30 minutes to bake, now that is fast, very pleased, had no idea you could even make bread like that, I wonder why every other recipe i have seen you have to take 2 hours for first rise, knock down the 1 or 2 hours to prove, this recipe said when the dough doubles in size then bake it, i wouldn't have believed it if i hadn't have tried it, i won't be going back to the old method.

Don't do more than you have to, there's no rush, take it easy, noones watching.

Just tried one of my smoothies i made, they are ok, the biggest problem is getting them out of the mold.

I saw some of gogglebox, of course it's all put on for the camera's.

The tooth is ok so far, can't believe they have had 3 months to sort some PPE out so they can work on people, crazy, what have they been doing all this time.

Mrs H got 3 months off, but she didn't get paid as we couldn't get a letter from the NHS or Gov dept, not much we can do, i think it's safe enough, she has been going in to shop for the last few weeks, she will take every precaution.

Have a good evening, looking forward to BB tomorrow.

Glad you slept well.

I see you have had a busy day. How is your ankle now? Does it still get swollen or achy at the end of the day?

Sounds like you have the same birds we have been having. They seem to eat any leftovers we give them.

Gogglebox....yes and double I agree, no way would I of liked to watch something like that with my mum!

Thanks for telling me about the thread, as you say, it does clashe, so I tend to watch on a Saturday, as have a few jobs to do before bed, so 10pm start a bit late for me. I could go and read your comments though.

Tv not so good tonight, as no BGT, and the Amerian Masked Singer is rubbish, especially compared to ours, in fact unwatchable, so I watched a film about the guy who wrote Winnie the Pooh, qiute interesting.

Hicky

Glad to hear you are pleased with the flagging.

Did you you get your yeast online?  Every time I get a food delivery, they don't have any in stock. It does seem a lot quicker to bake with that recipe than what it usually is.

Sounds like your lad in Oz is very busy.

Hope all goes well with MrsH's return to work Tuesday. A shame so many got paidfurough, but she couldn't. She works part time doesn't she? Hopefully they will have good covid protection policies in place and fully running there by now. Will she have to wear a mask?

Hope your tooth continues to behave until dentists get back to work.

MrM made some pizzas with the pizza flour we managed to buy awhile ago and they were delicous. So had them for tea with salad and chips.

Managed to take doggie a walk inbetween the showers. Should of done the washing, but couldn't be bothered today.

MrM likes drawing portraits and he finsihed a few that we arranged Hermes to collect. One of my aunt and uncle, one of the Who and Roger Daltrey for a friend who is a fan, and one of YungBlud, who my friend's teenage daughter is a fan of. So hope they like them when they get them. They charged ÂĢ3 each to collect from my home, which I think is good, and the Scottish one is flying there.

Not bad weather today, managed to get on the swingchair inbetween the showers and quite warm too.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

The Blender fell to bits again after i had finished blending, all over the place again, the bottom came off the jug, it is screwed on but the just is what contacts the machine, the blade base is free, i think the direction of the blades is somehow unscrewing the blade base, as when i go to lift the just and blade base off the machine the jug comes off and the blade base stays in the machine with 2 beakers of fruit mush all over the place, what a mess.

I have told Amazon i am returning it, can't do with this, not sure what i get next.

My lad in Oz and his o/h do the same thing, she is a project manager on massive contracts, very clever, they both are, and both very busy.

O/H only works about 16 hours now as she stopped sunday, they have plastic shields up etc, she has glaves and masks anyway.

I was looking on Amazon for McDougalls flour etc and i came across a page of bread/cake/biscuit/cookie etc dough mixes, you can get anything in bags, even 3.5kg bags and 4 x 3.5kg bags and with them all your only add water, wow, no wonder these hotels etc or B&B's can make bread so easy, add water mix, put in tin, rise an hour or so, bake, done.

Here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bakin...1%2Cp_4%3AMcDougalls

Yes its worth making your own Pizza bases.

Thats good Mr M likes drawing, hope they are pleased when they arrive.

It was better today weatherwise than i was expected today, i wasn't on the swingseat, it has been moved so is now facing East.

Now the flagging is finished the big benches etc can be moved into their new home, when we moved in we bought 4 big 3 seat banches, they are good, one is in the Gazebo, we took another out so o/h could put her exercise bike in., the bbq is still in there though.

Have a good night, stay safe and sleep tight.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Lousy nights sleep , so not a great day today ! But I managed to wash and change the duvet cover , anti bac the shopping order and tidy up the rambling rose a bit . I was starting to bump my head on it when I went to feed the birds Apart from that I’ve not done anything else . Hope everyone else is having a good Sunday .

Mollie , yes, it still swells up and is quite painful at times ....but I think it’s very normal given the amount of surgery and metal I’ve got in there Are you looking forward to BB tonight ? I only started watching from bb9 onwards , so most of it will be new to me It’s focusing on the first series tonight Wow , Mr M sounds very talented ....I can’t even draw a straight line Hicky , bummer about the blended ...don’t blame you sending it back ....it’s obviously not fit for purpose I hope you oh gets on ok on Tuesday

Well , my viewing is sorted for tonight ....so I hope you both have a good evening , whatever you’re doing Take care .

Evening Baz.

Not too bad a day, 21c light rain showers and a gentle breeze.

For brekkie had hash browns, smoked bacon egg and beans with toast.

Haven't done much, made a Sunday dinner of mini Welsh hill lamb shoulder with cauli spuds and carrot.

Have parceled up the blender, being picked up Tuesday, i ordered a new one from Amazon, the blender was free delivery but instead of putting it in the basket i opted to buy, the problem was it bypassed the delivery options and charged me delivery so i canceled it, or i'm trying to, for an extra 50p i could ahve got it delivered tomorrow.

Glad you took it easy today, after all it should be a day of rest, sorry to hear you didn't sleep well last night.

I have seen every BB as far as i know, but i bet as soon as i see a bit it will come back to me even from so long ago.

Watching Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow, then inside the factory, then mayb Inside Sainsburys unless i have seen it, or Salvage Hunters, i might have seen that also or escape to the chateau, or Country File, 8pm Saklvage Hunters, then 9pm BB.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

what a shame about the blender, so annoying you have to clear up the mess, then go to the effort of returning it. HOpe the new blender is more suitable.

That's good MrsH will have so much protection at work. Hope she does not get too tired when she goes back after such a long break. I expect she will be pleased to see her work colleagues again after so long though.

Thanks so much for the link, gosh I never knew they made all those mixes for all types of baking. We will definately get some...., perfect with there being 5 of us. Such an easy option.

Baz

sorry you had such a bad nights sleep and not such a good day today. Hope you sleep better tonight.

Good job you managed to tidy the rambling rose, hitting you round the head is not a good thing!

It is bound to take a long time for your ankle to settle down after such a nasty injury and major surgery. So make sure you rest if when it starts playing up.

Lovely day today, so plenty of time on the swingchair and a little walk with doggie, and a social distanced chat with 2 neighbours along the way,who were also doggie walking.

Had cooked brekkie with son and MrM, so just had cheese salad rolls for tea, followed by strawberries and cream.Yummy.

Am recording BB as MrM and I are watching that true story about the poisoned spy in Salisbury a couple of years ago.

So tv time now.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Mrs H won't get time to talk to any staff, if she is on bullion i don't think she gets time to talk and if she on a till they can't talk to anyone as they have a queue of customers so they never do much talking while at work, they can't.

I will be puting seed in my next loaf, i just tried the recipe as per stated on the back of the yeast packet.

Couldn't believe it even worked, fantastic, saves so much time, i also added the Lecithin to help with shelf life.

I mentioned about the bread mixes to BIL, he said he wont get them as it would take the enjoyment out of it, he's alone though as his o/h died.

I had a sit on the seats a few times, not on the swingchair as it's facing the wrong way, need to kove stuff about as turf coming in the morning.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Quite a nice day rally, 19c with sunny spells and a gentle breeze.

Had bacon on the bbq for brekkie, for tea sliced up the remaining Welsh lamb from Sunday and used a jar of spicy Jalfrezi curry sauce with a rice cake.

Managed to order some new wood for the grass surround frame, the grass and underlay came this morning so pleased with that, it doesn't come till Wed or Thursday, so hard to get through to these places, although they are so busy with deliveries.

Fed all the fruit trees and veg tubs, i lifted the cover of the hydroponic buckets to see the tomato/celery etc, i noticed a bulge in the top cover as it crosses from 1 side to the other, the rain had created a pool, massive, must be 50 or more litres of rain, had to puncture the bottom to get it to drain.

stay safe, have a good evening, enjoy BB at 9pm, it's on Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu also next week the same.enjoy.

hope you slept alright and feel well today.

Hicky

That's good you are pleased with the grass. We will have to see a photo when it is all done.

I thought you might of had bacon on the BBQ today as the weather is nice.

Shame MrsH doesn't have time to talk to other staff, I was forgetting being part time she probably doesn't get a lunch break. What is the bullion department she sometimes works in? Hope she is not too exhausted on her first day back tomorrow.

Glad you are pleased with the new recipes.

Nice day here too today, so got on the swingchair with my book for awhile.

Gosh you must of had a lot of rain to get 50 litres.

Didn't realise BB was on so many evenings. That's good. The only one I missed was the 1st one because we were in Australia then.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I meant i was  pleased the grass came it is wrapped up in plastic like a carpet, don't think it will be opened till it's laid.

Yes, Mrs H doesn't get a break as far as i know, the bullion is putting the money in all the machines before the public come in, she doesn't do that on a Tuesday as she works 9.30 till 1.30 so will be on the till.

Oh, didn't realise you missed the first one while in Oz.

Have a good evening, watching BB now, i remember this one so much.

Hope Baz slept better last night.

Am recording Love Island Australia as it started at 9pm, already have all of Love Island USA recorded.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Rained most of the day here ....and big thunderstorm in early hours ....which I heard cos I couldn’t sleep I got up at 4 am and made a cup of tea , went back to bed and dozed , but couldn’t stay in bed cos I was expecting two deliveries  I had slept really well the night before , so I guess I can’t complain Needless to say I’ve not done much today  I see there is some positive news on the covid front at last . Apparently a cheap, and readily available steroid appears to cut the death rate for the worst cases ....I.e. those on ventilators. Maybe a glimmer of hope .

Mollie, BB is on Sunday to Thursday , this week and next ....but it clashes with Sewing tomorrow I think I’ll probably watch Sewing , and record BB . Hope you are having a good day and glad you managed to get some time in your swing chair Hicky , are you enjoying BB ? I am , I hope that the viewing figures might make them think about making another series Hope Mrs H got on ok at work today

Well , my viewing is sorted for tonight....Bake Off then Bb Hope you both have a good evening ...stay safe
