Evening Both.

Cooler today, with a brisk breeze, 16c but sunny spells.

Just had a round of my loaf toasted with butter and jam for brekkie.

Gave neighbour more spring onions, o/h had some of the Asparagus.

The Glucosomine came, that was quick.

Baked a Chocolate cake, it was a ready mix pack, add a few bits as usual, but i mixed it in a bowl so used the bake function on the machine, o/h said it had been in the machine 10 minutes too long, thats easy sorted.

Just had a ribeye steak with onions and mushrooms for tea, had a bit of the cake, after another bit now, i made the supplied icing with the butter 1/3rd to go inside and the rest on the top/sides but don't think it's going to set somehow.

Edit: forgot to say, been making fresh mint, leaves pulled off, washed, wrung out chopped up and put into the electric spinning blade thingie to mash it up, then put into big jar and malt vinegar added, filled the big jar and still lots of mint left to make more tomorrow, put washed leaves in the fridge for now,

Mollie, Yes, enjoy the voice-over, it's Ian Stirling, read this.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-44520829

The problem is, you need to be paired up in the Villa, another feller going in tonight.

A shame your lads leg is bothering him, as you told him, rest it for a while, it can't be good being on it all day walking around.

Those are late hours for the park, they must have shifts working there.

Emptybox, That was a bad night then weather-wise, pity you couldn't get any work done.

I've got 4 Hoselock watering timers, 3 different types, the models all had different prices from about ÂĢ36 to ÂĢ59 and they are all programmed by different methods, this new one looks pretty simple so it should do the greenhouse fine, i have a master one, then 3 to control the 3 areas, then this one will come on when are 3 is watering, the greenhouse only needs say 3 minutes a day so it will be programmed to come on at 09.35 till 09.38 each morning.

You could do with being able to contact the plumber to arrange a suitable time.

I noticed the difference when i started taking the fish oil and the Glucosomine etc it stopped a lot of knee problems, it was many years ago when i was having problems when a college at work said he always took the oil and tablets so i started myself, o/h takes them as well.

I always watch the 'Life Below Zero' and they mentioned the other night that the thaw was so quick because there is no night, 24 hours of sun at that time of year, or wherever they were in Alaska.

they shoot and eat Squirrels, and Muskrats, Rock ptarmigan and all sorts of creatures like Dear, Buffalo and Seals.

Sunrise here is 04.44 am sunrise is 21.44 17 hours of daylight.

Summer is here
Summer at Last.

HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE BOTH

Emptybox

You certainly have a lot of summer daylight up there. I thiink it gets light about 4am here. It is so nice to have these light summer evenings though. We never got them in Australia and my neighbour from India tells me they don't there.

67 hours viewing, that will be some viewing for you.

That is annoying you have to plan your work week round the plumber coming! We get those gas checks every year and I hate someone having to come in the house to do work. Can't you tell LL you want him to come in the morning as you have work committments?

Hicky

hope you managed to get into your garden today.

After a week of drizzle/grey, we at last we got some sun, so got lots of washing done and dried outside.

We also went for an evening walk down seafront and had our tea in the fish and chip cafe. I had beans/chips with cheese, and a glass of rose. OH and son had fish, chips, mushy peas. Very nice. Then got a few things from the shops. eg batteries.

Hope you both had a bit of sun too today. Next week forecast is real hot, not keen on too hot though.

Looking forward to watching Love Island later.

Watching Corrie now.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Hi both.
Mixed day here. On the one hand dry with quite a bit of sunshine, but on the other cold and very windy at times. Only up to about 13 degrees and felt much colder in the bitter wind.
Got a big job done anyway. Strimming, hedge cutting and mowing.

Hicky. That was quick getting your Glucosomine.
Hope the chocolate cake passes your OH's taste test?
Yes, Glucosomine definitely seems to do some good.

Mollie. The number of hours of daylight at different times of the year depends on your latitude. The nearer the Equator you are then the closer to you are to equal hours of daylight and dark all year round. The closer to the Poles you are then the greater the difference between Summer and Winter daylight hours.
As Hicky says, you get 24 hours of daylight at mid Summer at the North or South Pole.

I could ring the landlady, or I could ring the plumber. But as I don't like ringing people up I'm not likely to ring either, being realistic.

That was nice for you, an evening walk on the seafront and a chippy tea.
The forecast for next week seems to be good, but I'm not counting my chips yet.

Watched 'Humans' tonight.

Evening Both.

Not a bad day really, 16c sunny intervals and not too much wind 12.

My shopping arrived, didn't order much as no room for more food, or non food if it comes to that.

Had bacon and toms on toast for brekkie.

Picked more raspberries, put in freezer.

Gave Neighbour a piece of chocolate cake to have with a cuppa.

My new watering thingie arrived, have fitted it, will set it up in the morning, did a dummy run to check what to do after reading booklet.

I did a search for Asian/Chinese supermarkets and one popped up not far away, it's at the same place as i went for the parcel from the mail and they sell the frozen spring roll sheets i have been trying to get.

Anyway, looked at the website and they deliver so i have ordered the spring roll sheets and a load of other rather nice stuff, 14 items, but most are 2 or 3 of it, some soup mixes, hot and sour and crab and corn, chicken and sweetcorn, Laksa soup, Mango Pickle as you can't get it in the supermarket, prawn crackers, mushroom soy sauce, bamboo skewers, vindaloo curry paste..

I ordered the soil moisture sensor to go with the greenhouse watering computer, i'll try and set it to not water unless the plants need it, worth a try anyway.

For tea i decided to use an old curry kit, it was from M&S a while back now, i made it with a pack of prawns, it was ok, i only added some onion.

Mollie, I don't think i've had much drizzle or rain for a bit, very pleased with weather really,

That seafront fish and chip cafe sounds good, love doing that.

Yes, weather seems to be picking up, could be a good summer, the spring onions are fab and last year they were awful, so strange, and the same type, and i sown a packet in a square section of a raised bed, 600 x 600 and it is in the bed with the vine but onion roots are pretty shallow.

Love island is getting more exciting, a new feller and a re-coupling tonight, the girl who leaves is on the Aftersun show Sunday night.

Emptybox,  O/H has had some of the cake, it was 10 minutes over-baked.

Yes, the wind can spoil what would be a nice day.

the wind drops here Sunday so i'll spray the apple trees again, as the codling moths will be here.

I could try and cover some of the apple branches with the insect netting sleeves but when they have a branch off i can't get the net on, will look into it tomorrow.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Wow! What a difference day makes. A lovely warm sunny day, with only a little breeze. I saw up to 26 degrees at one point, but it was mostly 19 to 21 degrees.

Got a lot of work done at 4 different places. I'll have to try to do a couple of jobs tomorrow though, to catch up.

Perhaps your neighbour will appreciate your chocolate cake more than your OH?

That's good that your shopping and your new watering thingie arrived.

Well done finding an Asian supermarket where you can get all your specialist foodstuffs.

Yes the weather pattern makes a big difference to what plants do well in which years.

Watched the footie then Jane McDonald.

Evening Emptybox.

Not bad today, 17c sunny mainly with light 11 winds which wasn't a problem.

Just had an omelette for brekkie, onion, mushroom and peppers.

The vine is starting to flower, it has grown lots of new leaves, takes a lot to keep stopping the side shoots and main shoots as they just want to grow on and on, but i want them to put their energy into the fruit later.

Set the new timer up this morning, have set it to 1 watering every 2 days for 5 minutes, it is set to start at 9. 32am when the 3rd set of trees will be watered, they start at 9.30am, i can change it anytime and it has the digital display so all good.

The Beetroot is about ready, so many peas on the plant, wow, just waiting for them to swell, the cucumbers are about 3" now so doing ok, picked another load of raspberries today, put into freezer, the Kiwi Berries are in flower, some have got fruit on, tons of them.

Picked more Cherries for o/h yesterday, a bit worried about so many apples on the trees, letting the Asparagus grow out now into ferns to put the energy back into the roots, tomatoes doing ok in the greenhouse, melons not so, not sure why, loads of growth but one plant seems to have loads of male flowers.

The Jalopeno peppers are doing fine, got some 3" peppers, lots coming, only growing them because i can.

Am thinking of another watering timer for the raised beds, would need another soil moisture sensor unit though otherwise there would be no point.

Will probably make a loaf tomorrow, not sure what type yet.

Decided to have the rest of the curry from last night but with baked spuds instead of rice.

Yes, a day can make so much difference weatherwise, not had 26c lately.

I messed up with the cake again, i put it in the fridge without covering it, and i put too much filling in the middle according to o/h.

Might have to hide some of the stuff from the Asian supermarket as i have to spend over ÂĢ30 to get it delivered, and about ÂĢ6 for delivery.

Just watching F1 practice on C4.

Really need to watch some of the 200 recordings.

20c tomorrow rising to 26 next Friday.

so glad you got nice weather, so could get some work done. Hope you got the same today. Yes it is very interesting how hours of daylight vary according to where you are in relation to the poles.

Hicky

sounds like your vine, as well as all your other produce is coming along well.

With the warmer weather coming, I am sure you will make good use of your watering system.

Shame the cake was still not quite right, I am sure i twont' be long now till you perfect it.

I hope your Asian shopping hiding works, but I guess it is worth spending ÂĢ30 if it saves you ÂĢ6 delivery!

Busy yesterday as we went viewing at the auction, then a coffee on seafront as weather good, then a meal out with son and off to airport to pick family up. They had a lovely time, so are done in, so much walking they said, and lots to do.

Today we went to Costco, lots of nice free samples. Then had a jacket potato with coleslaw and cheese in cafe.

Very warm here today, and a warm forecast.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening both.
Not quite so good today. Cloudy or hazy sunshine, and about 17 degrees, but fine for working. Got the two jobs done that I needed to. Think I'm about on track at the moment.

Hicky. That's good that all your plants are doing well, with the exception of your melons, but i suppose you can't have everything?
Pity your cake wasn't quite up to scratch again.

Mollie. Busy at the auction again?
Glad your kids loved their visit to Eurodisney, even though it tired them out.
Do you actually buy things at Costco, or do you just go for the free samples?

Watched the footie then the Rugby (Scotland vs Argentina) then watched an episode of GoT.

You are certainly not the only one who avoids taling on the phone at all costs. I hate phoning companies and the worst is if they say they will ring me back, as then I am tense waiting for the return call! So I'd always prefer to email, as do the rest of my family. My family will chat talk with headphones whilst gaming, but also avoid phone conversations. So I do understand why you just have to wait and see when he turns up now, but let's hope it is a morning call or a wet day when you couldn't of worked any way.

I went to Lidl yesterday and picked up a brochure, and noticed they have garden stuff there. So keep an eye open when you go, in case they have anything you could make use of.

Here is a link to a current brochure with some garden offers.

https://www.lidl-flyer.com/24b...GB/view/flyer/page/2

Took dog for a walk about 8am as it looks like it is going to be very hot today, as it is sunny with no wind at all.

So hope you have an improvement weather wise to what you had yesterday.

Glad to see you are up to date work wise though.

Time to get a few washloads in as it is suh a nice day.

OH has set up my BBQ I won in the raffle. We have to buy a few things for it, so will probably use it for the first time t tommorrow.

Hope HIcky has nice weather today too.

Hi Mollie.
Just got back from Lidl. I noticed the gardening stuff, and there was an interesting 40v Li-Ion hedge cutter that would have had plenty of power for ÂĢ129. But I'm not after another one at the moment. (the higher the voltage the more power it should have). Worth noting for the future though.

I'm not sure I'd want to chat with headphones either. My nephews do that when playing online games, but I think I'd be too self conscious.
Unless I was playing with my brother or somebody. But he doesn't play computer games anyway.

Very warm day here. Slightly too warm if I'm being picky. Blue sky, blazing sun, hardly any wind, up to 27 degrees.
Cut my own grass and went to Lidl.
Changed into shorts as soon as I got back from the shops, as I was so hot. I wouldn't have wanted to shock the other shoppers with the sight of my skinny white legs.

Just noticed this morning that the air filter cover has gone missing from my newest mower. It must have been pulled off by bushes as I was mowing last week and I didn't notice.
I had a look round one place this afternoon, where I knew there wouldn't be anyone in, but couldn't find it. I'll just have to keep an eye open for it as I go round in the future.
The mower works fine without it, as the actual air filter is quite well held in without the cover, but it's annoying losing it. Doesn't look like I could get a replacement on Ebay either. I can get a replacement filter easy enough, but not the cover.

That's good that you got a doggie walk before it got too hot.
Hope your BBQ goes well tomorrow.

I watched the England match before i went to Lidl this afternoon.

Evening Both.

Pretty darn hot today, it says 21c but my thermometer says 23c, very hot sun, light winds 4 to 8.

I had sausage, bacon and tomato for brekkie.

My Watering soil sensor cam today, it is now fitted in the greenhouse, put it in the Chilli tub as it was easier to work in as the others have too many big leaves.

Will check how it looks in the morning, the controller has a display that is on all the time and it tells you everything that is going on, it is telling me the sensor is calling for water, i had to follow a step by step instruction to install the sensor itself into the tub, not exactly as i would have expected, to trail the cable across the greenhouse under the door opening i tried to put it in a hosepipe but it wouldn't fit so i cut a length of hose about 5 feet and slit the side with my Secateurs put the wire in and taped the pipe closed in places.

O/H has just eaten the last of the cake, she is instructing me and how to make the next one, i have a Vanilla cake mix, might make it tomorrow.

My Asian food parcel is coming Tuesday had a call today saying the prawn crackers weren't in stock.

O/H just cooked a small belly pork so had some of that for tea, boiled some sliced Anya potaoes and made some gravy.

I put my washing in the machine this morning while o/h went to work, put it on the outside wall mounted Aberrant Dryer thingy, it dried fine, just got to fold it now and put it away.

Got baby fruit forming on the Kiwi Berry vine, very pleased with that.

Oh, just remembered got to spray again the coddling Moth tonight, was waiting for the sun to cool off and the wind to be low.

Mollie, Spending ÂĢ30 didn't save me a delivery cost, that was the minimum to get a delivery, so excited to get the Spring roll sheets at last, hope they work for me, if they work for thousands of people then surely they will work for me?

Glad family enjoyed their trip, they deserve that don't they.

Costco again, you sure like that place, i can't get o/h to go, not sure why.

Emptybox, I have a few melon plants, one says i need to pollinate them, the others seem to have male and female flowers, but i tried pollinating them anyway.

I can't imagine o/h ever saying my cake is perfect, no chance.

Right, off to spray the trees.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Glad your watering sensor came, and you worked out how to fit it.

Yes, better to follow your OH's instructions to the letter next time you make a cake. More chance of satisfaction that way.

That's good that your Asian food is coming on Tuesday. Pity they were out of prawn crackers, but you could probably get those somewhere else.
I imagine your clothes would have dried very quickly outside, with this hot weather.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Another glorious day here, rather hot, 23c scorching sun all day, very light breeze 3 to 9.

Didn't have brekkie, waited for o/h to come home from her mums then we set up a meal for 5pm, i cooked a boneless lambs leg and she made a salad, used spring onions frpm the garden and had some of the mint i made, very nice too.

I made a Vanilla sponge cake, very nice too, she loves it, and i only overbaked it by 5 minutes, the problem with the cake mixes is that the pack size varies, and she doesn't want filling or icing on top, not even icing powder sprinkled over it.

You know i was sharpening the blades on the gardeners electric hedge cutter, he said it kept jamming and the motor ran but the blades didn't, well after i had sharpened it and greased/oiled it all i tried it and it ran for a few seconds, so it's obvious something serious is wrong unless it has a type of cluctch or something to disconnect the motor from the blades if it jams, anyway, it wouldn't drive the blades so i rang him and said can i take it to bits to find out what the problem is, and i told him it won't be going back together unless it's repairable, anyway, the problem is, the drive shaft on the motor has a 4 tooth bit on the end of the motor shaft, that sits against the rotary cog which is pert of the drive for the blades, it is a joke really, never seen anything so badly designed, when all the parts wear it will allow the 4 tooth cog which is 5mm in diameter to jump which then wears the teeth until they wear round with jumping the cog that it's driving,  but then it gets so worn that the teeth no longer can drive at all, i can tell just by looking at the way that it is put together that when it stops you just bin it, no way would they sell spare parts for repair, in fact you would have to buy a new motor which would cost more than the original machine, but you can't buy one anyway.

The watering didn't come on this morning in the greenhouse as the sensor was sending a damp signal to the control.

Put a little sun lotion on today as the sun was so fierce.

Been looking through the receipts from the holidays, wow, some expensive tickets, one tip included was $55 dollars US, they must make a fortune in tips that all i can say, if they did that here the waiters would be driving Range Rovers.

I've told them to put the delivery form the Asian superstore in the Porch, i could be in the garden.

Have ordered some glasses cords as i need to go outside with both glasses as i need the sun glasses in this sun but when i go in the shed or in the house i have to change glasses or i can't see.

All my bedding was drying outside today, have had to take the inside out from the duvet as it's too hot so will sleep under the duvet cover.

Going to make another loaf tomorrow, got plenty of stuff.

Did Mollie go away somewhere?

glad you found the lidl garden stuff I posted the link too. As you say, even if you don't want it now, it is worth noting for the future as they do seem to have it every year.

As this summer goes by, don't worry those skinny white legs might stay skinny, but not white.

Hope you spot the air filter cover somewhere around.

Hicky

well done getting OH to enjoy one of your cakes at last.

Will you be able to get round the damp signal so the water comes on when you need it?

Those glasses cords are a good idea so you don't lose your glasses when you need to interchange.

Good idea just to sleep under the quilt cover, think I will too tonight.

It has been so hot here today, it is exhausting.

Went walk down seafront as there was a bit of a breeze there. Had ice cream topped with raspberry sauce.

Watched Corrie, then Love Island.

Goodnight both xxx

Hi both.

Very sunny and warm today. My van was saying 31 degrees at one point when it was sitting in the sun, but mostly it was 23 degrees.

A bit more of a breeze this afternoon, so not bad for work.

Got a couple of big jobs done, strimming and grass cutting.

Hasn't been too hot overnight here yet, as it's been down to single figures in the evenings, but as the hot weather continues the house will heat up.

Found a Briggs & Stratton parts place online where I could buy a new air filter cover for just under ÂĢ10, but I'll wait till I've looked at all the places it could have come off first, before I buy a new one.

Hicky. Glad you have eventually made a satisfactory cake (in your OH's opinion).

Don't know how you could go all the way to 5pm without food? You must have been desperate for the lamb dinner when you eventually got it.

That's a pity that you couldn't repair the gardener's hedge cutter. Is that the Bosch one you linked to previously?

Not surprised you needed sun lotion today. I smothered myself in factor 50.

Yes, they are big on tipping in the US.

Mollie. Glad you enjoyed your seafront walk and Ice Cream.

I've never had even a hint of a tan on my legs in all my life. I get a bit tanned on my arms, but never on my legs. Mind you, I only wear shorts in the evenings, so it's not surprising.

I've never been one for sunbathing, but even when I deliberately sat in the sun for a hour wearing shorts one Sunday a couple of years ago (all the time I could stand before dying of boredom) the legs never even got slightly pink.

Evening Both.

Another scorcher today, 27c wall to wall sun, light wind at 7.

Didn't have brekkie, waited for the new loaf to cook and also for the Asian delivery.

O/H was working most of the morning but her knee is very painful the Arthritis playing up.

I decided to have a bowl of the hot & sour soup using the mix that came with some of the new loaf.

O/H said the loaf was very nice, and she loves the Vanilla cake so i'm getting there, the recipe i found for this bread only made a small loaf so she wants me to double up.

Got about 14 soup mixes, soy sauce, the hard to find Mango Pickle, 2 packs of the spring roll sheets 81/2" squares and about 40 sheets a pack, yummy, each soup mix is for 2 people so will have the rest in a minute, the way the stuff was packed was very good, the jars were wrapped in cardboard rolled around the jars, no chance of them breaking, and all packed into a cardboard box, wow, they sure know how to pack, it took a while to unpack.

Gave my neighbour some more spring onion, cherries a cucumber and a peace of the Vanilla ?Cake.

Picked another load of raspberries for the freezer, they are ripening fast with this weather.

Mollie, I have 2 ways of getting around the sensor if i think i need to, the water feed to the greenhouse from the garage computer enters in 2 pipes one each side but they go around the greenhouse and join so i can turn the other tap on and it would water as usual, or i can turn the dial on the sensor as it can be set to less or more water.

I fed the plants in the greenhouse today so it probably doesn't need water, as i am out in the morning at the hospital eye clinic i will let if please itself.

It looks like Alex has lost out again, he's not rough and ready enough, thats what the girls want these days, or so it seems.

Always good to go down the seafront, why not, don't blame you.

Emptybox, The gardeners hedge trimmer was the MacAllister 710 one, it should be classed as a toy, it is a design disaster, to have a shaft 5,, diameter with 4 teeth and rotating at the speed of a motor and with just about 1 tooth engaged at a time, the pressure on each tooth has rounded the teeth and the the wear in everything has of course allowed the drive to skip over the cog which is connected to the blades, once it slips then really it is all over because from that time it will slip when ever their is strain on the blades, and the slip of course just rounds the teeth more and more, there is no way you could replace the motor or the blades, in fact it's a skip job.

Yes, i was doing well without food, mind you i think i had a couple of easy peel oranges, the little teeny ones.

Sprayed more lotion on today for some protection.

I wonder when this more or less compulsory tipping came from, there wasn't even a 10% option, it was 15, 18 or 20% plus tax so even a smallish bill get vastly inflated, when the 4 of us went out the bill was always 3 to 400 Dollars which is a lot.

Hicky

Emptybox

that's good the weather meant you could make more headway with your jobs. Hope you got good weather again today.

At least you have sourced the part you need, if you can't find it.

Hicky

sorry to hear your OH's knee is playing up. I guess that is not easy for her as her job inovolves standing? That is good she enjoyed the loaf and you are getting there with the cake now at last.

After all the problems you have had with packaging, it is good to know this order was packed so well.

You are so organised with your watering, but I guess that is so important especially in this hot and dry spell. The grass round here is now starting to look real dry and yellow now with lack of rain.

You would think that, as a gardener, that guy would have had a more reliable hedge trimmer than that type of model.

Gosh the USA is so expensive with all that tipping! Not like my ÂĢ6 a time all you can eat Toby carvary.

So very hot here today, it was 30c! OH made a BBQ for tea as I didn't fancy cooking in the kitchen. It was real nice. All made on the BBQ and charcoal I won in the raffle. I had veggie sausages, hallumi, salad, strawberries in melted choccie.

Daughter bought me a paddling pool, so that is great, I cool off before I hang out or bring the washing in.

Watching Corrie, then looking forward to Love Island.

As you say Hicky, seems Alex is not rough and ready enough for those girls! I also think they don't know how to talk to him, as he is a bit too intelligent for them. Hope they put more girls in to shake it up again. The girls really hate it when new girls arrive don't they?

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.
Another lovely day here. I saw 27 degrees at one point, but mostly 23 or 24. Plenty hot for me.
Bit breezier this evening.

Got a couple of big grass cutting jobs done.
Plus I found my air filter cover. I was passing one of the places I did on Friday so i called in for a look, and the cover was lying on a pathway.
I think the customer must have found it and placed it where he knew I would see it, because there were no bushes where it was lying, so couldn't have come off there.

Hicky. That's a shame that your OH's knee is playing her up.
You seem to be making headway with the cake and bread making.
That's good that your Asian food delivery was well packed.
Your neighbour will hardly ever need to go to the shops with all the food that you give them?

Is that not a corded hedge cutter? Not very useful for a gardener as you'd have to keep asking your customers if you could plug it in.
I think in the US a lot of waiting and bar staff only get paid very small or no wages, and their pay comes from the tips, whereas here they all get at least the minimum wage, so not so reliant on tips.

Is that your third set of injections at the eye hospital tomorrow? You'll be glad to get that over with.

Mollie. Sounds like it was very hot with you?
Glad your BBQ was a success and you enjoyed the food.
Thought you'd be a bit old for a paddling pool? Do you just cool your tootsies in it, or do you sit down and play with a rubber duckie?

Watched a bit of the footie, then Bear's Mission with Warwick Davis.

Evening Both.

27c again today, sun all day, no wind.

Quite a busy day, eye hospital at 8.15 but i forgot to mention, had a bit of an accident while getting food out of the fridge, i wanted the pack of smoked salmon, but in front of it was some easy peel thingies, and a glass jar with butter in, anyway, anyway, as the salmon came forward so dod the butter jar, i got hold of the bag with the easy peels with my right hand and the salmon with the left but the jar came out, i probably tried to stop it falling and in doing so somehow i ran my bare arm across a bottle top of a drink o/h had put in the door shelf, i lost 2 x 1cm of skin, i couldn't stop the bleeding so put a plaster on, this was on for 2 days, when i took it off the wounds where the same so i put some Hydrocolloid dressing on, at the eye clinic they advised i get it seen to today and must go to the walk in centre which was about 5o yards away, so i did, after a bit of a wait they changed the dressing and said go back Saturday to get it changed.

After that i rang o/h for a lift, outside in the pavement was a big stall of fruit and veg so i got ÂĢ10 worth as o/h likes fruit anyway.

I decided to double up on the ingredients for the next loaf, it is massive, a 1kg one.

For tea decided to make a Singapore Laksa as o/h saved me half a chicken she had cooked, had a round of the bread, very nice.

I have moved the sensor in the greenhouse to another tub, have moved it from the chilli one to the cucumber one as i assume it uses more water.

I was looking at the blade on the hedge trimmer and the teeth on the back are either worn or been sharpened wrong because the way the teeth are each tooth is trying to ride up over the bar that it uses to cut the branch so it had no chance, will speak to the gardener and see if he can shed any light on it, don't see how a small branch could wear a sloping edge on the back of the tooth, each tooth reminded me of the double edge kitchen knife, but it's the same with shears and scissors any slope on the back of the blade and they are useless.

Mollie, The gardener did have another hedge trimmer, he was buying a Bosch today, thats why you shouldn't buy B&Q's own gear, it really isn't worth a dime.

I might be having BBQ's tomorrow.

I think a few fellers/girls are going to be changing partners, they take it too serious, don't they realise they are there to find the right one, not hook up with anyone.

Emptybox, Thats good, getting the filter cover back.

Yes, the hedge trimmer is corded, he was probably stuck between a heavy petrol one or a battery that might not last.

Yes, 3rd injection today, not sure what happens next.

Hicky

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

well I never thought you'd get that air filter cover back!  That was good thinking of your customer to put it where you could find it.

That is good you have good weather again so was able to get some jobs done.

Hicky

hope the hospital visit for your eyes went well and the effect of the injection doesn't last too long. (if you had an injection again). Did you manage to get a lift there and back? Hope they didn't leave you hanging round too long.

Really very hot today, in the 30's and uncomfy. I heard them say Wales was hottest place in UK today, Daughter and I went to city to escape the heat, the shops/cafes there were nice and cool, but the train home was so stuffy! Lucky it didn't take long though.

I had 2 fans on all night last night,... a biggish one and a mini one on my bedside table! The dog wouldn't eat all day yesterday till 10pm, as she doesn't like the heat. But at least she did eventually have a meal.

Nothing I want to watch on tv tonight except Love Island. Will watch my recording of Hotel Inspector. Are you watching it Emptybox?

Mollie.
Thought you'd be a bit old for a paddling pool? Do you just cool your tootsies in it, or do you sit down and play with a rubber duckie?

Never too old for a paddling pool in this weather.

No I leave the duck behind and just have a quick paddle, it is so refreshing.

If you are tempted, we got ours from HOmebase for ÂĢ5.95. (and you could take your rubber duckie in it with you).

Evening both.

Looked out of the window at 6am and there was heavy fog outside, but it had burnt off by 9am, and turned into another hot sunny day. 26 or 27 degrees all day. Too hot really.

Got another few jobs done, but was quite hard going in the heat.

Hicky. That sounds like a nasty cut you gave yourself. Hope the dressing the walk in centre gave you helps it heal.

At least your OH was able to give you a lift back from the eye hospital.

Sounds like that hedge cutter has had some hard usage to have the blades warn like that. If the blade has got slightly twisted, that might stop the blades from running.

Mollie. Yes I'd read that Wales would have the highest temps today, sounds unbearable.

Not sure the city was the best idea to escape the heat? But I guess the cafes would have air conditioning or fans at least, even if the train didn't.

Not surprised you needed fans in the bedroom. My room seems very hot tonight, so I might need my fan on as well, though I've had the curtains closed during the day, and I'll try having the window open for a while before bed.

That's good that the dog did eventually eat something.

Haven't been watching Hotel Inspector recently. Tonight I watched 24 Hrs in A&E.

I see you too have it hot there now. Yes must be very hard work doing your job in this heat. Be very carefull you take in enough water, as you don't want your condition aggravated.

Hicky

gosh that accident sounds nasty. Must of been nasty for them to send you to have it dressed. HOpe it heals soon. Good job you could have a lift off your OH.

Hope your eye is faring ok after yesterday's injection.

Yet another hot day today, so OH did a BBQ. The hallumi was so nice even all the meat eaters asked for it again today. (along with their marinated chicken). I had the hallumi, veggie sausages, and salad with fresh brioche rolls. Delicous. Then strawberries in melted choccy.

I met mum's ex carer today. She tells me she is going to college with the intention of training to be a midwife. It will take her about 4 years, but she is the sort of person to stick to it.

Then met OH and daughter and we had an ice cream on the seafront. Lots of people in the sea. There was a lovely sea breeze today But it was again extremely hot at home and the house is awfully hot! My fans will be on all night again tonight.

Looking forward to seeing what happens on Love Island tonight with all those new ones going in. I bet the old ones won't like that!

M

Evening Both.

A bit late, have been having a BBQ for tea, also had the same midday

Hot today again, 26c wall to wall sun, very light winds.

Made a Victoria Sandwich by Marry Berry, but messed up again, put the wrong setting, i premixed the ingredients and used the bake setting but forgot the setting for the crust colour is for the bread, on the bake the crust colour is the baking temperature and i used light setting which is 100c and the med setting is 150c, oh dear, couldn't get it out of the pan either, and i even greased it, it will do me but not sure about o/h.

O/H brought back from her shopping trip with her mum a big red crab, will sort it in the morning before it get hot.

O/H was picking cherries today, wasn't sure if she was going to stop, lots of fruit and veg can be picked now.

Had a steak burger for late brekkie, for tea had chops and cocktail sausages from the BBQ.

O/H's knee is troubling her so she has rang work, she is going to the Walk in Centre with me Saturday morning, it's her Arthritis thats flared up again.

My cords for my 2 pair of glasses came, it's better than having one pair hooked into my shirt pocket as it falls out, the cords are great.

O/H want one of the outdoor pools, these

Intex Pure Spa - 6 Person Bubble Therapy Hot Tub

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0...84689429235&th=1

Mollie, My eye is fine today, yes, third injection of the set, not sure whats next.

Yes, o/h took me and picked me up later.

It's all happening on Love Island, and another 6 girls and 6 boys going in, wow, that will confuse things.

It was hard to sleep last night, don't like a fan though.

Emptybox, Yes, my right arm is in a mess, main thing is keeping infection out, there is 2 big holes right through all the skin layers but hopefully with the nurses looking after it i can get it healed, the dressing is 15cm x 9cm but i have to keep it dry.

About the hedge trimmer, does the back edge of the tooth on the blade wear? not sure if someone has tried to sharpen the back of the tooth. looking at sharpening instruction, if you didn't know better, when they say turn the blades over and sharpen the other side, you could if you didn't know better you could sharpen the same tooth instead of the teeth on the other blade.

I would say the blades jammed because the back of the tooth is either worn or been sharpened, but as it stood with a slope on the back of the tooth it meant that the tooth would try and ride over the branch.

The blade wasn't twisted, i just need to find out how the back of the tooth got a slope on it, as like that it was unlikely to cut much at all without jamming, and with that machine, if it jams once it's scrap.

Hicky

Hi both.
Another very warm day. Probably the warmest so far.
My van was telling me 35 degrees on a couple of occasions, but it was consistently 28 degrees.
Got a couple of jobs done and also went into town to do some banking and get some stuff from my natural remedies place (Saw Palmetto etc)

My landlady rang and said the plumber should be coming in the morning, but she didn't know the exact time. Hopefully that means I'll be able to get some work done in the afternoon.

Both of you having BBQs today? I suppose it's definitely the weather for it?

Hicky. You're not having much luck with these cakes? You must have a big number of them to eat now, you seem to make at least one a day.
Pity your OH's arthritis is so bad she needed to take a day off work with it.

Yes, I would think the glasses cords would be a good idea if you are juggling with two sets of specs.
That spa looks rather swish.

I don't think I've seen the flat side of the hedge cutter teeth wearing? Sometimes the teeth get little chips in them, if you hit a wire fence or something by mistake, and that might cause the flat side to need to be filed flat again. But i don't think it could wear as such.
As you say, it's maybe been sharpened wrongly.

Mollie. I didn't need the fan last night, but it's even warmer in the house this evening, so I can see me needing it tonight.
Yes I'm taking lots of extra fluids at the moment.

That's enterprising of your Mum's carer, training to be a midwife.
You're lucky having the seafront close at hand like that.

Watched the England footie match. Disappointing performance, but I think they weren't really trying as they actually get a better draw in the next round by losing.
Then watched Humans. (which, despite the title, is about androids )

Evening Emptybox.

Another scorcher again, 27c wall to wall sun, hardly any wind at all.

Went to Claremont Farm for brekkie, they have a farm shop so can get nearly all our shopping, except for flour, can get that tomorrow from the local co-op.

O/H is off for 3 days to try and get her knee better.

Ordered a 4" big heavy bench vice, and a new watering computer for the raised beds and a soil moisture meter to plug into it.

the cake i made is a bit of a failure, my fault, should have set the right temperature or could have used the cake setting.

Had the crab for tea, takes so long to dress it though, i always think it's worth it but if i can get a dressed one i would, and dressing it in this temperature isn't good.

I believe SIL is popping in Monday, will give her some of the fruit and veg thats ready.

The glasses cords are great, ideal when you are in and out of sheds/house.

Not sure if we have room for the Spa unless i moved trees around somehow, it's only a bit over 2m wide but thats a lot if i put it on the decking, i'll have to measure up.

Thinking about the hedge trimmer blade teeth, i can't see the hedge wearing angles on the back of the teeth, my theory is that the motor started slipping because it jammed so someone has thought that you sharpen the back of the tooth, it does sharpen it but then it can't cut anything because it has nothing to push the sharp tooth against because the blade support section works against a flat tooth so if the tooth has a rounded edge then it rides up over the branch.

Get the dressing changed in the morning.

Hope the plumber came today for you to get out in the afternoon.

Hicky

that sounds real warm temperatures for you up North. Far too hot here again.... car showed in the 30's again all the way back home from the shops.

Did you manage to get much work done today, or did the heat or the plumber's late arrival today slow your work down? Hope he did arrive early morning and didn't stay too long.

Glad to see you are remembering to watch your fluid intake.

Hicky

I see you too have been having BBQ's, they are just right for this weather.

Good idea to go out for brekkie, always a treat. We went for tea at the pub today as my kitchen is so hot with the sun on it. I had butternut squash lasagne and salad. Son ate my garlic bread as I don't like garlicky food.

Hope your OH's knees improve with a rest from work. Does she take any meds for it? But I guess it is only painkillers you can take for this if it is arthtritus? Does it come on if she has been on her feet for too long, as I suspect her job means she is on her feet a lot? If so, hope a rest from work for a few days helps her. And hope the walk in centre can help advise her. That is handy you have one of these centres, we don't have any round here.

Shame your cake did not turn out right, takes some practice with cakes to get them right though.

I am sure your SIL will be happy to leave with your gifted produce after her visit.

Mabye a spa (if you have room) would be a good help for your OH'S knees? That one looks real nice in the link. Looks a bit hard to climb into though?

I hope your injury has improved when they change your dressing tomorrow.

Been viewing at the auction again today. Lots of interesting stuff again. Will bid on a bed for son if it doesn't go too high.

Watching Love Island now, but can't work out who is who now they have added so many extra ones in.

Sounds like it is going to be real hot again for a few days.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.

Warm and sunny again, but not as hot outside as there was more of a breeze.

House like a sauna though, and I hardly got any sleep last night, despite having my fan on. And bedroom even warmer tonight, even with the window open.

The Plumber didn't come till 1.15pm and stayed for nearly an hour, so I didn't have much of the day left. Did get one job done though.

While I was waiting I got last month's accounts done and did some hedge cutting in my own garden, so not a total loss.

Didn't think much of the plumber. He didn't seem to know what he was doing, and the boiler has been giving off far more parrafin fumes since he left. No idea why, but not good in this hot weather.

Perhaps the fumes will dissipate after a couple of days?

Hicky. That was good that you got brekkie and your shopping from the one place.

Hope the 3 days off helps your OH's arthritis.

Glad dressing the crab was worth it.

Mollie. That's good that you got some relief from the heat in your kitchen by having a pub tea.

Hope the bed you saw at auction doesn't go too high in price.

Watched Jane McDonald again.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Red hot today again, 27c sunny and winds of 8 to 12.

Went to the Walk in Centre to get the dressing changed, waited 90 minutes when a nurse said i would be best going to another hospital Walk in Centre as they have a dressing nurse a few miles away, were i sat a waited some time, got out at 1pm, went to a little Asda for a few items.

Got in, had a round of my toast, then put on the bacon ribs, going to have a salad i bought for tea, we were going to do a BBQ but decided not to.

Mollie, O'H went to the Docs about her knee, he sent her for an Xray, got to wait a week for results, she got some steroids on a prescription and tablets.

I bought more flour for cakes and bread, and a couple of Velvety Vanilla cake mixes, got to make a loaf tomorrow for when SIL comes on Monday.

Yes, Love Island is going to get real steamy, 6 more boys and 6 rather dishy girls, wow, this will cause some hassle.

Emptybox, I can't remember what the plumber was coming for, but what has that got to do with the fumes from the fuel, you should never have fumes surely.

Don't dress Crabs in the Summer. .

Finding sleeping hard, 25/26c in the house.

Right, must get my salad and a hot drink.

Hicky

Emptybox

gosh that is not good the plumber didn't seem to know what he was doing and left a fumes smell. Hope it has gone now, if not you will have to email landlady. It is supposed to be a safety check, not one that messes up what you have! And how annoying that the "morning" call ended up being 1.15pm! No wonder you only had chance to get one job done.

HIcky

fancy leaving you waiting all that time, then sending you somewhere else! What did they say about the wound? Is it healing ok? You said you didn't get away till 1pm, so what time did you leave the house? I bet it was quite a long time before that!

Sounds like it is a good job your OH went to the GP, at least she has been offerred an x ray and some steroids. Hope the steroids help. Has it improved at all?

Hope your cake mixes turn out ok. I am sure your loaf will as you have been getting practice in for that.

I am with you both in finding it hard to sleep in a hot house at night. I have my big fan and my mini fan blowing on me all night, and it is still hot.

Took dog walk before 8am and we had a nice cool breeze then, but it didn't last for long as it heated up quickly in the sun.

Here in Wales we have weather warning for thunderstorms next! And a forecast of 30c. Oh no! So forecaster said real humid air to hit some time tomorrow, and it is bad enough in the heat already!

We went to costco today, got a few things and enjoyed lunch there, as it was air conditioned. I am not using my kitchen oven in this heat! So it was salad for tea , and the family had a cooked chicken from costco. Their cooked chickens from costco are huge!

Didn't watch anything on tv tonight, OH watched footie. And there is no Love Island.

Should be interesting tomorrow as you say HIcky with the new lot settling in. The girl chatting to Alex seems nice, and a natural beauty minus the botox and swollen lips and heavy make up which most of the other girls there have seemed to of gone for.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Hi both.

Another very hot day here. A little breeze, but hotter than yesterday.
Got a couple of jobs done and also did some more tidying up in my own garden.

Had a bit of a better night's sleep last night. I left the window open all night, and that seemed to make all the difference.
I usually don't like to have the windows open in case things come in - bats, wasps, flies etc, but can't be helped with this stifling heat. The fan is not much use on it's own.

The plunber was doing a service on the kerosene boiler. It was more than just a safety check, as i'm sure he changed the nozzle at least.
The smell of fumes was there as soon as he left, so he must have known it was there. Perhaps he spilt a little fuel while he was changing the nozzle?

The smell is still there today, but less than yesterday, so perhaps it'll take a few days to go away.
The boiler always gave off a little fumes; I think kerosene boilers always do, but this is worse than usual. The hot weather probably isn't helping it either.
I'm just making sure to shut the door to the back kitchen (where the boiler is).
If it doesn't go away in a few days I'll contact the landlady.

The reason I didn't think he knew what he was doing is that he was back and forward to his van multiple times to get different tools. And at one point he seemed to be reading a manual. Perhaps he wasn't familiar with my boiler model? But i think it's a fairly common one (Grant).
Also he had an unmarked grey van (no logo or phone No), which is never a good sign.

Hicky. That's not good, giving you the run around about changing the dressing.
Hope your loaf turns out OK tomorrow.

Mollie. Sounds like you might be in for thunderstorms? Maybe it'll get rid of some of the heat for you?
at least it was not as hot at 8am, when you took the dog for a walk.
Glad you enjoyed your Costco lunch.
Not surprised you wanted a salad for tea. I had my usual spag bol, but the kitchen does get hot when the stove is on.

Watched some of the footie again, now watching something about Eric Clapton.

Evening Both.

Another scorcher, 27c sun and no wind.

We had bacon batch from the BBQ, but o/h didn't like the burnt taste that the BBQ gave the bacon.

Had another of my salads later, just had some ribeye steak with onion and mushrooms, just having a tin of authentic hot and sour soup from Taiwan.

Just baking a loaf for tomorrow, have altered the recipe into 3 sizes, S,M & L, this one is the M.

On checking the melon plants, have found 3 now.

Just watching Escape to the ChÃĒteau, love Dick Strawbridge.

Got Tomatoes going red now, as well as everything else.

Mollie, We got to the first hospital by 10am, thought we could then go for brekkie, but the place was heaving, and not many staff on, thats life.

O/H is walking better now, will have to see how it goes.

Yes, Love Island is going to get interesting in the next few days when they all merge.

Emptybox, Hope the boiler smell has gone, is the smell the oil burning or the fumes from the boiler when alight.

Some workers use an unmarked van or else it gives people an idea of what may be inside, which is not good.

The soil Moisture senso is doing ok, this morning it was reading dry which means a call for water, then later it changes to moist and turned off the greenhouse watering.

Need the other set to come now so i don't have to turn taps on and off for the raised beds.

I should have got to the 1st hospital earlier, but it might not have made a difference, don''t know, thing is i might now have been in a 90 minute queue.

let's hope the smell clears soon so you don't have to contact the landlady, as you say the hot stuffy weather won't help clear the smell quickly. Maybe nothing on the van as the landlady finds using a one man band cheaper than a big company? ..., which is fine as long as he has experience and knows what he is doing. (?)... .

I have been exactly the same as you re the bedroom windows, I hate the thought of insects coming in, but could not stand the heat any longer so left the windows open. Didn't help much last night as it was just so stuffy though! But I made sure I didn't have the light on to attract the insects in, so luckily it remained insect free.

Did you take the day off work today?

Hicky

glad to hear your OH;s knees are a bit better. A few weeks after mum died I had real pain in my knees, but it has eased now. Thinking on it I put it down to not being able to eat at all for such a long time, so perhaps lack of oil for the joints? I heard avocodos are good for joints and inflamation, so I try and eat one for brekkie with toast now. So the pain did ease. Wonder if avocodo would help your OH? When is she due back at work? That job must be hard for her if she has knee pain.

What did they say about your injury? Do you need to go back again?

That's is good your soil moisture thingie is working well.

Shame your OH didn't like the BBQ;ed bacon. That is the trouble with BBQ's, it is hard to work out what comes out nice. We tried some slices of butternut squash today and they tasted burnt but the sweet potatoes tasted good.

We decided to go for a BBQ again as it was so warm and humid.

We did get a bit of rain this afternoon, which did cool it down a little, but it is very humid now.

Wathcing Love Island now.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Just watching Love Island Aftersun.

Just made the loaf, it looks fine, hope it tastes fine.

When i had the knee pain they told me it was my Hip which was the problem, and when i got a knew hip it cured my knee, so i said to o/h it might be you hip, she said no it's my knee.

I go back to get the dressing changed Tuesday afternoon it all needs to grow new skin., i go back to the eye clinic on the 31st to see the Optometrist, they probably want to do tests.

Not sure she like Avocado will ask her.

Hicky

Evening both.
Another sunny hot day, the van was telling me 31 degrees in Sainsburys car park.

The kerosene smell was worse this morning, so I took the covers off the boiler and had another look, and there is quite a lot of wet kerosine underneath the boiler. I tried running the boiler, and immediately saw there was a drip from the joint in the pipes just below the burner. That's where the pipe comes in from outside and attaches to the boiler pipework.
Why on earth the plumber was fiddling with that connection I have no idea, but he's gone away leaving it leaking.

Luckily the landlady had previously given me his mobile number, so I called it straight away, and he just said to shut the boiler down and he would call in first thing tomorrow.
Trouble is, if he's so incompetant to cause the problem in the first place, how can i trust him to fix it?
Suppose I'll have to give him a chance, and check it thoroughly after he's gone, and if it's still not right I'll call the landlady and tell her to get someone competant in.

The landlady always goes for the cheapest tradesmen, and seems to get different ones every time. Why the hell she didn't get the plumbers who installed the boiler in the first place to come and service it I'll never know.

Seem to be having a problem with my telephones. When they ring and I pick up the phone it doesn't seem to recognize that it's been answered and keeps on ringing till my answer machine picks up. I should think it's a problem with my own DECT phones rather than the phone line, but it's hard to tell.
My answer machine is working and will record a message, so I think the phone line is OK?

Hicky. Glad you enjoyed your BBQ, even if OH wasn't fond of the bacon.
Hope the bread tastes fine.
Glad your OH's knee is improving.

That's great that you've got tomatoes turning red already. The earliest I've ever had a home grown one ready was the end of July, but might beat that this year. I've got a couple almost full sized, but green as yet.
Glad your soil moisture thingie is working fine.

I can't really talk about an unmarked van as I've got nothing on mine either, it's just plain white. But then I'm not claiming to be a registered tradesman with any specialised knowledge; just a jobbing gardener.

Mollie. I have luckily only had the odd black fly come in throught the windows so far, which is surprising as today I needed just about all the doors and windows open to try to make the house bearable, and to stop it filling with kerosene fumes.
I've got wasps out the back though, so I'm more wary of opening the back windows.

Talking about avocados reminds me that I bought one from Lidl a week ago. It was on offer for 49p, but a week later it's still as hard as a flippin' rock, so i see why it was on offer.

Pity the rain didn't bring you much cooler weather. It's supposed to be a bit cooler for me tomorrow before the heat returns midweek.

Caught a bit of Antiques Roadshow tonight, which from just a few miles from me. Not sure if it was a repeat though.

Evening Emptybox. :

Another scorcher, it was 30c in the garden shade today, just sun all day and light winds of 6 to 12.

SIL came early on her way to her mothers, gave her raspberries, cherries, peas, beetroot, cumber, she didn't need anything else, but she had 2 rounds of my bread toasted and loved it.

Didn't do much, gave a hand to my neighbor who had fell in her garden, with another neighbor we made her comfortable till they came to get her lifted with the air cushion system as you cant lift her without.

Going to make another loaf similar but with seeds in, might try the dough option to see if i can take the paddles out before it bakes as they are a pain.

Had hot dogs for brekkie, with mustard, tomato sauce, BBQ sauce and a nice fresh finger roll.

That is bad news leaving a leak under the boiler, no wonder you could smell the fumes.

You'll have to let him fix it or else the cost will be down to you.

If the phone rings then the wires are fine, there's only 2 wires, if something isn't right in the house then it will be the unit thats plugged into the incoming socket.

The unit might need rebooting as it's only a baby computer and you know what they are like for hanging up etc.

Going to have a salad for tea, with have a tin of salmon with it.

Hicky

Hi both xxx

Emptybox

Oh dear turns out you were right to have your suspicions about the capability of that plumber! Typical landlady! Our last one was just the same, only in it to make as much money  as possible by not paying out for decent tradesemen. Damn nuisance he has to come back again now, and then you have to check up on him again. Good job you noticed  what was going on though. Let's hope a) he did  turn up FIRST thing and b) he fixes it properly.

You answered your own question as to why she didn't bring back the one who put the boiler in the first place...she must of just gone for the cheapest!

Sorry to hear you are having such an odd problem with your phone. Yes sounds like it is a problem with your own phone, as opposed to the lines this time.

Hope you managed to get out and get some jobs done after the plumber. Looks like we all had the hot weather again today. It was a constant 32 showing in our car today and felt swelteringly hot!

Shame you now have wasps to contend with. Have you thought of trying the fly screen sheets? OH put these up downstairs now, and they are a good help, only the tiny insects get in now. We got ours from B and M or Home Bargains.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mosqu...or+doors+and+windows

Try not to get too stressed with all these annoyances going on as you don't want your condition to kick off. I think you need to try some relaximg music and a bit of light entertainment. eg I find a bit of Oklahoma relaxing and uplifting....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_C6J9gij5SQ

or maybe a bit of 5 seconds of summer,....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2BYmmTI04I

I watch their videos when OH watches footie.

Maybe they will help you unwind?

Pity about the advocodo from Lidl. Do you have the mini veg packs there? I often buy these as you get 20% off when you buy 3 packs. The mini packs of avocodos I find very nice, and keep well in the fridge. They do take only a few days only to ripen. So I buy 2 packs , keep them a couple of days to ripen, then they last me over a week then as there 4 in a pack. .

Hicky

your SIL was lucky to have all that produce gifted to her, glad she enjoyed the bread too. Your poor neighbour having a fall, lucky you were around to help make her feel comfy. How did you know she has taken a fall? Hope she didn't injure herself.

Hopefully when your OH has the x ray, they will be able to work out what the problem is with her knee pain. Is she off work all this week to rest it?

Hope they don't keep you waiting too long when you go for the dressing change tomorrow, and hope it is improving well.

Horribly hot here again, so like you, I had salad too for tea.

Enjoyed Love Island tonight. Poor Georgia.

Another baking hot 30 degrees predicted here tomorrow.

Goodnight both xxx

Hi all.
Started off cloudy and windy here and quite cool. But the sun came out this afternoon, and it ended up warm again. Probably only up to 19 degrees though.
Got a few jobs done after the plumber had been.

The plumber came about 9.20am, so not exactly first thing. He was here for an hour, so longer than the actual service.
The leak wasn't coming from the joint I thought, but was dripping on to that from above. At first he thought it was a flexible pipe leaking, so he replaced that, but found there was still a leak, so he had to take off the oil pump and reseal that, and he now says the leak is cured.
There doesn't seem to be a drip now certainly, but there's still a very strong smell. I think it's because the oil/kerosene has soaked into all the insulation material. He mopped up as much as he could, but there's probabl;y more hiding, so will take a while to clear. He just advised keeping the window open and the door shut.

I've booked my van in for it's MoT on Thursday, so that's another thing to worry about.
Also I seem to have a problem with my current account. Four customers usually pay me over the internet with BACS payments, yet none of those payments have reached my account yet, even though they are usually prompt payers.
I suppose it could be a coincidence and they are all on holiday or something, but if they don't go through soon I'll have to investigate to see if my bank is rejecting the payments for some reason.
I guess I'll also need to ring the customers and ask them if they've paid.
My account seems to be working for direct debits OK, but if I can't pay into it then that could be a disaster, if there's not enough to cover next months D/Ds.
Perhaps it's some glitch that could be sorted out easily? But you've got to have confidence in the system.

Hicky. Glad your SiL was pleased with what you gave her.
Oh dear! Hope your neighbour was OK after her fall.

Yes, I might need to reboot that phone. It does sometimes sort out problems with it.
It's behaved itself today though.

Mollie. Those fly sheets might be a good idea, especially if this hot weather continues for any length.
Yes, I can see me getting symptoms with all these things going on. Especially the bank problem, which might take hours on the phone to sort out.
Not sure Oklahoma is my thing? Never heard of the boyband, but they seem OK.
I've seen those mini veg packs in Lidl. Might try them.

Evening Both.

Another lovely day, 25c sunny and a slight breeze of 10.

O/H didn't go to work again so she took me to the nurse early, was hoping to go for brekkie in New Brighton, waited for the dressing an hour, so it was almost dinner time, parked and got to a cafe, was going to order brekkie but o/h decided on fish and chips in the end.

Called in to M&S on the way back, got a few goodies, fruit & some make yourself meals at 3 for ÂĢ10.

My new watering computer came, have fitted it in the pipework of the raised bed supply, easier than i thought, had to modify the pipework of course as the feed was facing up and the computers have the feed facing down so had to revers both but i had the elbows to do it as you need those as if you bend the bend the pipe round it kinks and cuts off the water.

Mollie, I had a feeling she had fell when i saw he o/h passing the front of the room, he was walking about 1 mile a week to one of the neighbours, i then went in the back to see if ci could see her over the fence, but i couldn't so i waited for the neighbour to come to see where he went and he went to the bottom of the garden, so i went down and asked if he needed any help, he said yes come round, she had been watering the shrubs etc but fell over a small fence into the shrubbery, we couldn't move her so waited for the rescue squad to come as she has an assistance button on her wrist, she wasn't in any pain but has no strength to move herself, they came and used the blow up device to raise her so she could stand, i had been wedging a seal upside down behind her with cussions so she could sit up a bit.

O/H had the Xray a while back but it takes a week before she gets the results.

Yes, felt sorry for Georgia but thats what happens on the show.

Emptybox, But you didn't have a fuel leak before the plumber came did you, had he disturbed something or removed a part and replaced the old seal, which you don't normally do.

Yes, thats strange if non of the BACs payments have gone in, the chances of them all being on holiday is very small.

Neighbour was out in her car today, o/h is horrified that she is even driving.

Hicky
